7/29/2024 - We were looking for a brunch spot for a final breakfast with visiting family members (on their way to the airport). When we initially asked for a table for 6, one of the staff members set up a table that was sandwiched between two tables that were already seated. There wasn’t even enough room to pull out a chair for an average-sized person without bumping into a stranger at another table. We politely asked for a table with a little more space to pull back chairs; some of our party had larger builds and needed extra space to sit. They refused our request and we had to ask two different people three different times in order to be accommodated. We were a little frustrated because it was a Monday morning and the restaurant was not super full of patrons at the time.
While we were ordering, the same woman we asked initially for seating accommodation was on her phone in a booth while still working her shift. This left a really bad first impression.
The staff behind the counter was helpful and answered our questions about the food/coffee since we had never been there before. The food and coffee we ordered was absolutely delicious, but the same woman that was on her phone ended up waiting on our table. She was passively rude when bringing out our water, she did not make sure the orders were given to the correct people (varying spice levels of the same dish), and while cleaning up the table we politely thanked her and she gave us a nasty look. I understand if you’re having a bad day, but at least be neutral when accommodating guests.
We were really excited to try the food here over a typical American style diner. While most of the staff was helpful and nice, this one staff member put a damper on our farewell brunch. We would love to recommend this place to friends, but we’re hesitant to...
Read moreI had brunch this past Sunday and while my food was absolutely delicious! My service was not. Me and my friend got there around 2pm and were greeted pretty quickly and then were sat at a table. The gentleman who greeted us and sat us at our table was very friendly and helpful. He told us our server would be with us shortly.
The restaurant was rather busy so we expected a little wait, no big deal. However, our waitress didn’t come to our table or introduce herself until we had been sitting there for at least 15-20min. We were also not given a menu, I had to go up to the hostess stand and grab one myself. I have been here before so I knew we could always go online and look but my friend had never been. So that was a little disappointing. After we placed our order and it came we ate, as always, it was delicious! We have no complaints there.
By the time we were done eating, it was almost 3:30p. Our waitress NEVER came back to our table. She never came to check on us, ask if we needed anything or to see if the food was okay. By this time the restaurant had almost cleared out. I think we were one of five or six tables left. I was looking around for her, I saw her at another table and still she never came back.
I had to go up the front counter and ask for to go containers and our bill. A very nice, younger man came to our table with boxes and the bill. He was very sweet and apologized for our wait. I will definitely be back because the food is so delicious and have had a wonderful experience before. But this last time was a little bit of a disappointment.. I hope this was a one off because I love this place; the food, staff and atmosphere! This is my new favorite brunch spot and am so happy that the restaurant is busy and doing so well! I will be...
Read moreThe place and its atmosphere is great. The Yemeni breakfast is amazing. Unfortunately the service is what kills this place. We had a family of 13 the way we were seated was very uncomfortable they didn’t try to help with the seating. She just helped place two table’s together and squeezed all the chairs. When it came to ordering, the girl at the register did not mention that one of the orders include potatoes and added the dish without. she took our drink order as well, and didn’t check if one of the drinks is available ( it wasn’t) we were told it’s not available after waiting 20 minutes for a drink. To make matters even worse our orders never came around the same time. Our kids were eating separately. Chocolate milk took almost 40 minutes to come out. The biggest disappointment was when our food came out. The portions are small, seriously small for a shared family breakfast. They tell you it feeds 4-5, that is inaccurate. The lehme sqar comes with potatoes but because the girl never mentioned it and took out the potatoes, the dish’s portion was half the plate. Once we saw the portions we had to make another order of the same things just to feed everyone at the table. The basket of bread included about 4-5 pieces of very well made bread. They brought two baskets for a table of 13. The bread size is small. We started asking for bread to go with our food. And our request got ignored and the waitress started questioning how many more baskets to order, when the bread comes with the meal. Overall, although the food ( traditional breakfast) is good, the service and portions are not. I hope that they reconsider the way the go about things because they definitely have...
