Been a customer for 30 years. Never called and complained about a messed up order as long as I could still eat it( like asking for no onions but they put them on. I can pick them off at still consume it, no big deal) but two weeks ago I made an order with hard bread an extra sauce, they gave me soft bread by mistake, so when I opened it a half hour later the bun was disgusting slop from being soaked. So I called to inform them. the girl asked for my name and wrote my name down and apologized. So I’m assuming I’m going to get a replacement. I mean, why would you take my name if you weren’t going to replace the sandwich? but when I showed up two weeks later, after calling in my order and letting them know that my name was in the book, the girl gave me zero credit and said it was probably my fault because they had switched bread suppliers and I just didn’t realize that they had gotten the order correct. This was total bullshit. I know the difference between soft bread and hard bread even with the new supplier.. I asked why she bothered even taking my name down? The girl said without the original sandwich they couldn’t give me any credit( she never told me that when I was on the phone with her originally). I explained that I work 10 hours a day on the afternoon shift and I picked the sandwich up on my way to work. I don’t think they would’ve met me at 11 PM to give them the sandwich back, so I threw it out, Since she asked me for my name and told me she was writing it in the book I think it was reasonable to assume that they were going to replace the sandwich. I’m 54 years old I believe in being Honorable and would never rip anybody off, but they definitely treated me like I was trying to rip them off. They definitely...
Read moreI would normally give this establishment a 5 rating as they make excellent sandwiches. However they do not have set hours which can get very frustrating when you show up at 2 or 3 in the afternoon expecting to get a submarine sandwich only to find them closed. Their new strategy is to stay open as long as they have enough rolls for the sandwiches once they run out of rolls they (still the case) are closed this can happen as early as 1:30 or earlier in fact. I cannot understand why they are throwing away business when most businesses are struggling. They are very lucky to be so close to Ford which keeps them very busy. So I highly recommend their sandwiches but I suggest you get there early. Maybe if they see enough comments they will come up with regular hours and leave the frustration behind for their clients. Since my last visit they have stabilized their hours closing at 4:00 p.m.. I have not seen this personally and cannot vouch for it but I am taking them at their word and I'm raising their rating up to a 4. They have a large Italian flag outside that says open when they are open otherwise it is hard to distinguish from the small sign...
Read moreI went here for the first time because it is a little closer to me than the ORIGINAL GONELLAS in southwest detroit. So I walk in and ask for a 12 and 2 and she looked at me wierd and she was like um we are no longer affiliated with the original Gonellas. So they are selling the 6 and 2 for the same price as the 12 and 2 at the original Gonellas. I can only imagine how much it would be for a 12 and 2 considering they only have a 6 and 2 on the menu. I'm guessing it would've been over 10$. Needless to say I was highly highly disappointed how are you gonna use the name of the best sandwich in town and not serve them the way the original does. I walked in and walked out and went straight to the...
