Experienced the 6 course menu as of 6/29/24.
This is about one of 5-6 places in Atlanta with a unique and creative tasting menu that is worth a visit.
Kevin Gillespie is striking out his own fine dining experience, and this place delivers. From the atmosphere, service, and, of course, the food. Everything about Nadair exemplifies fine dining as well as striving for that michelin green star status. You will have a taste of Scottish inspired cuisine right here in Atlanta, a one of a kind experience.
I had the 6 course tasting menu, and it was fantastic. Some courses were more of a hit than others, but ultimately that is to be expected, and comes down to personal taste preference.
The cheese and onion pie is a great savory starter. You get the thick rich pie crust along with a tart and savory cheese and creme fraiche. 8/10
Next comes the shellfish dish, featuring mussels topped with cultured butter and some various green onion and beet. I wasn't too keen on this one as the mussels had a bit of chew to them.. otherwise, it was solid flavor wise. 6/10.
Course 2 features cheese dumplings. The cheese was very fresh and herbal, with a greenish color. Definitely akin to Scottish comfort food. 8/10.
Course 3 was the scallop with 'Scottish pudding', crushed peas, and bacon scallop sauce. The scallop was perfectly seared, fresh, and flavorful. Combined with the rest of the dish, this went above and beyond the standard scallop in a creme sauce. 9/10.
Course 4 was the pork shoulder. Again, you want to combine all components of the dish into each bite for a rich, savory, and satiating meal. Definitely a highlight of the experience. 9/10.
The final main was the wagyu spinalis. This is the ribeye cap of the wagyu, but the preparation was just not great for me. The meat was lukewarm, very rare, and somewhat chewy. The rest of the dish was fantastic, with the horseradish, potato, foie sauce, and mushroom. Again, everything paired wonderfully for a rich and savory experience. 7/10.
The two desserts were fantastic. A deconstructed peach cobbler and various post-meal goodies. 8/10.
The space is unique, quiet, and cozy, with heavy Scottish influence. Half of the staff are wearing kilts, and the servers/ bartenders are fantastic. Shoutout to Angela and Terell for the memorable night.
Again, this is one of the few spots in Atlanta with a tasting menu and even more affordable 3 course menu of high caliber and unique/creative experience. Focusing on high-quality food sources, Gillespie truly delivers on his version of Scottish fine dining cuisine.
Definitely add this one to your list to experience, you won't be...
Read moreI don’t think I can say enough good things about Nadair! I am a total fan girl of Kevin (the owner and head chef) but he doesn’t ever disappoint. I thought Nadair would be a once in a lifetime opportunity but to be honest I don’t want to only go once. I want to go for EVERY occasion- and I will!!!! And here is why…. (Yes, it is a mnemonic device) It is… Nice Appetizing Devine Amazing Imaginative Rare
Nice- everything is nice. The location, the atmosphere, the concept, and most importantly the people. You feel like you are driving to an industrial random building- which you kind of are but parking is easy and the restaurant is big! Inside it feels very homey and inviting with warmth. The decor did remind me of Scotland too! I love how the concept is Scottish food with unique twists. I also love the concept of picking from a three course menu or doing the six course tasting. We did the 3-course and can’t wait to go back and do the six. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile and treated like their number one customer the whole time you are there. Appetizing. You come for the food I know. And you won’t be disappointed. We started with an unexpected amuse bouche. It was the best one bite I have ever experienced- I jokingly asked for more. Then we received our appetizers which left us so happy as we order the Terrine and crab salad. After they delivered scones surprisingly and the butter with those was so good I was piling it on. For entrees we got the wagyu and pork loin chop. The desserts we ordered were sticky toffee pudding and their special spice cake. They wrapped up the meal with another mini dessert sample of shortbread and moose. Devine. EVERYTHING WE HAD WAS DEVINE- nothing negative at all to say. I wanted to lick every plate and desired more. The appetizers had strong flavor, the pork loin came with a sweet maple sauce and I couldn’t get enough. The desserts were rich too! Amazing. Everything was just amazing. Every detail from menu, ordering, to serving. Imaginative. The menu was very unique and I have never experienced anything like it. From the crab salad, to sweet pork loin it was all imaginative and you could tell the effort that was put into planning it. The menu changes too! Rare. Nadair is a rare experience that everyone should experience if they can!!! I can’t wait to go back. Thank you Kevin for such an amazing experience and one that I will treasure every time I...

I now believe our isolated incident was exactly that. A single incident, that did not represent their values, culture, or hospitality. Blown away. That is why I’m happily changing my review to 5 stars. We look forward to our next meal there. Thank you, Nàdair.
My wife being a big fan of Kevin Gillespie and myself being a Top Chef enthusiast, it made sense to put on our best and check out Nàdair for our anniversary. As we were escorted to our table, we were greeted by one menu hand signed “Happy Anniversary”. A nice touch. Once seated, our Nick Frost doppelgänger waiter introduced himself. He was kind enough, but had a sprinkle of snooty towards us. My wife and I picked our courses, along with a bottle of Pinot. For a starter, I got Deviled Ham Toastie. Delicious, but a tad over seasoned. For the main course, I got Wood Grilled Diver Scallops. Finishing things off, I got a “Tipsy Laird” Trifle. Delicious. Loved the subtle orange chantilly. My wife got the Savory Apple Strudel, Wood Grilled Wagyu Beef Culotte, and the Apple Cider Donut. She seemed delighted with her choices. Once dinner was nearing a close, our waiter brought a finishing toffee pudding of some sort. I missed the name, because he accidentally knocked over my wife’s glass of wine over the table. He proceeded to dap the table with a non-absorbent napkin and offered to get us another glass. As we still had wine left in the bottle, we declined… we also still had wine on the table. Nobody further came to check on us, or help clean the wine puddle. Our waiter came back with the unaltered check. Very expensive. I thought about speaking up, but my wife is opposed to “making a scene”. Full price for the table wine, it is. I lay down the card on the table. Our waiter returns shortly after and asks “do you need more time for the check?”. Seriously, dude? First, the card is on the table. Second, you are rushing my wife and I, as we finish our wine, while we do our best to avoid the stainful liquid on the table. This was our 4th Kevin Gillespie restaurant. Based on the questionable service, I would not return...
