July 8, 2025 - Stopped while running errands. I ordered a Side Car. It was wonderful! If you enjoy fresh coffee made from freshly roasted beans, The River is the place to be. Always great quality and service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

May 17, 2025 - Another Saturday morning visit to The River. It was again, as I expected, the absolute best cup of coffee. Today, it was a simple Ethiopian pour over. The flavor was robust, yet soothing. No bitter after taste. A great start to the weekend. Another 5 star visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Saturday morning is a great time to visit The River. Aaron and his crew make great coffee drinks. Each one comes from freshly ground beans and served with the greatest of care. The River is a must visit in Decatur.

Super high end coffee. If you want sugary milk with a little bit of coffee in it, go somewhere else. If, on the other hand, you want some really great coffee, and have time to enjoy the experience, drop by the River. Aaron will make you a great cup, whether you like cold brew, nitro, a traditional cup (all hand pour overs) or espresso.

I really want to like the River Coffee Company but each time I try to get a coffee there I’m disappointed by the service specifically. The baristas have zero urgency in the morning and should be more aware that patrons are often treating themselves to a coffee on the way to work. Today I ordered a coffee and the barista started refilling the muffins when the muffins weren’t empty. I went outside to wait for my coffee came back inside and my coffee was ready. Who knows how long it had been sitting on the counter. Meanwhile one of the two baristas was chit chatting away with a customer as he was when I walked in to order coffee.
