True transparency. I am a beer LOVER. So this review may be a bit bias, but 3 taverns has some of the best beer out in Atlanta right now. My colleagues and I did a Hip Hop beer festival here back in April and when I tell you that this shindig was all the way live, it was. The location is tucked in the heart of Decatur in a location I like to call "Beer Ave" (copyrighting this term). Reason being is because you are right down the street from 3 other beer restaurants/breweries (Twains, Blue Tarp, Wild Heaven). Nate is one of the main guys here and he's by far one of the most approachable people ever. I see him around town and every time I do, he shows love, which makes me want to visit 3 taverns and support them even more. This is how great they are and I haven't even mentioned the beer. It's like the icing on the whole "3 taverns sundae experience". Again, some of the BEST craft and local beer I've ever had. My faves are single intent, night in Brussels, and Quasimodo. They keep the beers flowing all night and the come up with some of the most creative brews I've ever had. They have beer that spans the palate and allows you to really find the beer that best suits you. The location is very beautiful, clean and "rustic" with the wood interior and old timey lights. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It makes you want to drink there. They also have a loft area with a couch in case you want to take a load off. Ample parking and restaurants for you to dine at after some good ole beer consumption. So my recommendation is that you are looking for a great brewery to drink and be merry, 3 Taverns is the...
Read moreWorst experience ever at one of my favorite breweries. I brought my wife and another couple on a Sunday afternoon. We were immediately snarled at by a male server to put on a mask. My friend had his arm in a sling and was having difficulty complying. The server was relentless. Upon getting the order, the server watched closely while my friend decided not to tip. The server quipped "You wont tip me because I made you wear a mask??", and my friend countered back "No, it was because you were so rude". We sat outside, and a patron dropped her glass next to our table while picking up her child. The same server came out to clean up the glass. My friend mentioned that it wans't us trying to make trouble. The server snapped back " I wasnt going to serve you again anyway". We were speechless. After a moment, the server returned to our table and snatched all four of our glasses. We explained that we were not finished, but he took them anyway. This all happened in plain sight of several other patrons sitting at nearby tables. They were as shocked as we were. Maybe this server was just having a bad day, but I've never been treated so...
Read moreThree Taverns provides an elegance in the craft brewing space that I have not experienced before. The outside of the place looks very industrial and old, but on the inside, the place is artfully decorated. The lighting fixtures around the place are great. The ambiance and vibe of the entire building is very relaxing and welcoming. It feels like you're drinking great beers in the warm hospitality of the south. Though it is not the most spacious brewery around, the beer more than makes up for the lack of space in quality of taste. The Night on Ponce IPA is a personal favorite of mine, and I highly recommend it to anyone who comes here for the first time. As I do with all breweries, I highly recommend that you come with a bigger group of people. I found that the prices on the beer were reasonable, but getting any merchandise is quite expensive. Nonetheless, its clear that Three Taverns is a phenomenal place to spend some time drinking great beer with...
