Opted to purchase washable, reusable facemasks because it was more economical than buying a pack of disposables for the cost of one reusable. Also, figuring that masks would be a requirement, I wanted to be fashionable and alternate my style. I like the designs I chose and the price was comparable to similar masks that have since come out. My pet peeve is when you don't get what is advertised!
Since reusable face masks were initially in short supply, I suspect that designers ran out of elastic bands because what I received instead were masks with hair tie-sized bands. Upon inspection after curbside pick-up, I dismissed the difference partly because prior to my purchase, the U.S. Surgeon General got on national television and demonstrated how to create a mask using hair ties. Hair ties come in at least 3 sizes. Those used for the mask were not meant for an ADULT to wear ear-to-ear all day. Yes, the mask fits snuggly, so much so that the ties pull the ears forward. If you allow the ties to sit 'as is,’ they put pressure on the top corner of the ear, which caused me pain and eventually led to headaches.
I attempted to stretch the hair ties by soaping, wetting and letting them dry on an 8oz. round bottle. I even put them in between door handles, closed one door and left them in a stretched position for two days--all to no avail. I've since sewn on elastic, from a disposable mask, which does fit comfortably on my ears while the mask covers my mouth and nose. An excuse is that the mask fits ‘most’ vs all faces, but the issue isn’t the mask. The issue is the hair ties. They are HAIR ties—not EAR bands. No M.D. will wear. We've since learned that the Surgeon General is as inept as as his boss. In their hustle to move the product, Blue Hanger made no mention of the difference prior to the order being placed.
To date, I've only used the black mask. The photos attached show the difference between the hair ties and elastic bands. I am annoyed that I'll have to do the same thing in order to wear the white mask comfortably. I am also annoyed by the fact that the white mask was not exactly as featured. The explanation given is that the designer cut from various parts of a bolt of material so each mask will be slightly different in terms of what words/patterns are featured. Without seeing the entire bolt of material, there was no reason to think that I would get an opposing set of words. In comparison, the print for the black mask was exact. As the COVID death toll rose, the less feasible it became to walk around with a mask with a message that translates from French to 'That's life.' The words modeled in the photo translate from French to 'Best of the Best.’ Since it's still in the original package, my preference is to swap the white mask for what was advertised. However, based on other comments and experiences, and Blue Hanger's stringent policies, I don't expect the owner will prioritize customer satisfaction even though I spent $47.
In short, the photos show the model wearing both masks with matching black or white elastic ear bands. That’s not what I was given. One of the masks has a different message than what is advertised—with no *caveat or note warning shoppers that patterns may vary. At Blue Hanger, you get what you INSPECT—not what you EXPECT so buyer be ware!

Read moreTERRIBLE store! Way over price with a rob-you-blind policy of no refund. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME VISITING THEM!!!
My husband drives pass this store all the time and is always raving about some of the cute dresses on display, so we decided to pay them a visit. When we walked in the young lady was somewhat pleasant and was pointing out to us they were having a 50% off all clearance items in the back racks except the last rack at the end. As we were browsing I found a cute cream with dark blue strips skirt on the "clearance" rack. As I was putting on my slippers after trying on the skirt and my husband was at the checkout counter, I heard the young lady told my husband the skirt was $50+!! I pointed out to her that the skirt was on the clearance rack. She said no, the clearance rack is the one with the summer sale sign next to it. Mind you, the rack where I got the skirt was to the right of the summer sale sign.... how deceiving!! I told her I no longer want the skirt because it's not worth $50. Please keep in mind that even though she charged my husband's debit card, she have yet to hand us the skirt. I ask her to void the transaction because, 1) I did NOT want the skirt and 2) the skirt was still in her possession. She again refuses to void the transaction. My husband and I left the store WITHOUT the skirt since it was never given to us. Needless to say, I called our bank and is disputing the charge. Please, please do not give this boutique a second of your time unless you want to get robbed blindly.
@3:58.. In response to the owner's response.
Dearest owner of Bleu Hanger, I may have NOT read your store policy because I did not see it but I completely respect it. I completely understand and was told by the cashier that you guys have a NO REFUND policy, again which I respect but what I don't understand is this:
As I was putting on my slippers and walking out of the fitting room was when my husband literally just signed the credit card pad. As soon as I over heard the price and was made aware that it was not a clearance item, I told the cashier I did not want the skirt and asked her to void the transaction. I never for once asked to pay a clearance price for a non-clearance item. What I simply asked was for the cashier to void the transaction since I did not wanted the skirt. Also, just to remind you and all the readers, at this point the cashier charged my husband's credit but NEVER handed him the skirt. When I was asking her about the pricing of the skirt and having this conversation with her, the skirt was on the counter behind her the entire time. I understand if I took the skirt out of the store and came back and asked for a refund. The skirt was NEVER given to us. Put yourself in my shoes and ask yourself if you would feel like you were robbed by a store doing business in America! As to your Summer sale sign, I should've taken a picture of it and where it was located to show all the viewers how I felt deceived by it.... the sign was hanging between the sales items and the rack where I got the skirt from.
I am a firm believer in when you do business, you are doing it for a life time with great customer services. I honestly don't think that you are in the business of making your customer felt as if they were being accused of destroying your product and than returning it like the previous reviewer, Mr. Johnson. Or refusing to void my transaction even though the item I purchased was NEVER given to me. I truly hope that you will sit down and re-review your store policy and the way you...
Read moreI had an AMAZING experience at Bleu Hanger! It was my birthday and I saw a gorgeous sparkly skirt in the window so we pulled in. Meldora, the owner was very kind, attentive and helped me with trying on my dresses. She started my fitting room before I’d even looked at the whole store which I highly APPRECIATED, because i hate when it takes hours to find something! She saw dresses she thought would look good on me, based off of my descriptions and desired feel for the night and hit the nail on the head. I got not one, but THREE dresses! She also recommended a good shoe store as well. The quality of the clothes was great. They were stylish, unique and I will definitely be back!...
