Well, If you see my reviews, they are usually positive. This one is not. I ordered a “pepito” and received a fajita so make sure you check. I think she was in Tik tok cuz I sleek both English and Spanish very well. Mistakes happen. Ordered a lomo saltado as well. I did not get French fries with my pepito because I didn’t get a pepito. I also did not get French fries for my lomo saltado which she got right and I paid for. I called them to let them know. I gave them the opportunity to make it right with a polite phone call. The reply was “well we gave you everything that comes with the fajitas. And we DID forget the French fries. You can come back here for them.” I said “IM HOME 25 min away. how about you email me with some sort of offer to make this right? since you KNOW you forgot”. $$45 including 17%tip on a drive thru. If YOU forgot to give me the correct items of food, YOU need to take responsibility and not ask me to drive 25 min back for French fries. I spent $20 on the fajitas we didn’t eat. I didn’t get my sandwich. The lomo saltado was good. Shame. In the end, their errors were my problem. I would’ve eaten their again. Run by kids. I wonder how they would feel if it was reversed.
Check your order before you leave and if it’s wrong after you leave, don’t bother calling the “manager”. I won’t be back. Plenty of good food...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be just another La Granja location but became an independent business a couple of years ago, breaking away from the franchise. It was a smart move. The menus are similar (they still make my favorite La Granja dish, which is the marinared boneless chicken) but the food offerings are better and El Granero offers breakfast. The food quality is consistent, always fresh and flavorful. The portions are generous, too. If you dine in, food is served on real plates with real flatware which is consistent with La Granja (not a bad thing).
The decor is updated, clean and comfortable as it can be for its size. It's a step up from what it used to look like, which is a huge plus. I do take out from El Granero quite often and have yet to be disappointed. It's Latin American food at it's best minus the formal sit down dining experience.
Don't confuse this place with Pollo Tropical. They can't compare. Pollo has lost my business for good when La Granja reopened as El Granero.
If you're not local to Deerfield Beach, it's worth a drive up to try El Granero. It's that good when your hankering for a...
Read moreI have been a guest of Deerfield Beach for the past five weeks and I was fortunate to find this gem on US1about a 1/4 mile south of Hillsboro Blvd. I ordered food at lease 7 times and was never disappointed; the food was always fresh and tasty with a wide variety of Peruvian dishes. Peruvian does not mean hot and spicy, it means very TASTY and the green sauces are primarily cilantro based and made from green veggies with some palatable peppers. I did have a problem with one large order, so I went back the next day and was fortunate enough to meet a Mr. Serafino, who was polite, attentive to my situation and found a resolution that made me a customer for life! Lastly, the staff work extremely hard to make sure your orders are communicated to the chefs in the kitchen: don’t forget to put something in the “Kitty” for them! Frank McKenna &...
