This is a wonderful adoption center, and Cindy, the director is tireless and passionate about her work. She vets potential adopters very, very carefully to ensure that she’s giving her cats a permanent, loving home. Let’s be honest, there are a lot of crazy people out there, and many people who aren’t 100% committed to having a pet, and Cindy won’t release her fur babies to anybody who doesn’t qualify as a loving, committed parent.
Cindy risks her own safety by visiting not-so-nice neighborhoods and feeding feral cat colonies. She also does her best to spay and neuter as many feral cats as possible, to decrease the population of at-risk cats. I happen to know that she’s worked 7 days a week for over a year. She does have volunteers, but Feline Friends is at capacity and these adorable furballs need a lot of care and a lot of love!
The fact that Feline Friends, or their wonderful Director, Cindy would receive ANY negative reviews just boggles my mind. Here’s a woman who has devoted her life to caring for cats that would likely be: 1) tortured or killed on the street 2) euthanized at a kill shelter, or 3) euthanized by animal control. A Google review from a woman who complains that her daughter wasn’t treated “right” as a volunteer only says something about the mother’s poor judgement, not the director. This place is about the CATS: keeping them healthy, keeping them happy, and placing them into good, loving homes. That is the purpose of Feline Friends, and an indignant mother posting a negative review because her little girl thinks the director was “mean” to her threatens the very existence of this adoption center, and the poor little kitties themselves. Other negative reviews are clearly coming from people who want to dump off their unwanted cats and become enraged when they’re turned away. This is an adoption center and their website clearly states that they are AT CAPACITY! Again, this is about the CATS. Not about the fact that you selfishly wanted to get rid of your cat in a place that would make you feel less guilty about being a deadbeat cat parent.
How do I know all this? Because my daughter has also volunteered there for over a year and has absolutely loved it. In that time, I’ve learned a lot about Feline Friends and everything they do for the feline community and have gotten to know Cindy as well. My daughter is a fierce advocate and protector of all animals, and if she ever saw so much as the slightest mistreatment of any Feline Friends resident, she would NOT have stayed. It is a wonderful, wonderful place and if you are looking to adopt a kitten or cat, do...
Read moreMy daughter volunteered for Feline Friends and I must say from what she says from the business owner I never got a good vibe from this place. I decided to let my daughter volunteer as it is the very first place she volunteers outside of school. My daughter very much enjoyed being with the cats and caring for them. Recently my daughter tried to contact the owner, or Cindy, to reschedule a date to volunteer but she was very rude to her. Said that it was not a good weekend and hung up on her. It turns out, there was another situtuation going on that did not invlove my daughter but she was brought into the equation by Cindy anyway. My daughter was told she was not allowed to volunteer anymore. So my daughter decided she would leave a review about her honest opinion about her experience on Google. To then be threatened by Cindy calling her on her phone that if she would not take down the review she would be in trouble with the law and her volunteers hours would be taken away. I pesonally think it is very unproffesional to threaten minors and run a business as she does. My daughters review was not disrespectful in any way. Simply stated she enjoyed being with the cats but that volunteers were not treated fairly. If you are thinking about trying this place for your pets or to even give some of your "free" time to help I would think twice. They are very rude based on personal experience and MANY reviews I have read. And Cindy, please do NOT call me asking to take this down. This is my honest opinion and it's what Goggle reviews are for. If you don't like what people have to say about Feline Friends I suggest changing how you...
Read moreI had recently called this establishment interested in adopting a new kitten into my home. I had called asking if they were open for me to meet some kittens i was interested in adopting. My cat had recently passed away due to leukemia/HIV/heartworm and i felt as though my other cat was lonely. Now, I am writing this review for everyone to see, but specifically for the owner to see. I respect the abundance of knowledge that you have about cats, and the fact you apparently know about everything that has to do with cats since your husband is a vet (which you so clearly felt the need to annunciate on the phone with me along with comparing yourself to some cat guru claiming you know way more than them..which was very unnecessary). However the delivery of your information was far from professional. I do not know if thats how you speak to all your customers/people who call you on the phone and or in person, but i really hope its not. Again, I do truly appreciate the information you gave me on cats with leukemia, however I will not be adopting a kitten from your facility due to the lack of respect and professionalism towards others. That is not the kind of vibe I would like my future kitten to be surrounded by prior to adoption. So I hope you read this review and realize the way you speak to people and reflect on your actions. With that being said, I am not going to bring down your google review by giving you one star, however I do hope this is a wake up...
