I felt cheated when buying some tequenos in this place. I had a meeting with North American friends and I wanted to give them a taste of the deliciousness of our Venezuelan tequenos. I called this place that advertised itself as a Venezuelan restaurant and they told me that they did have the tequenos like they are in the photo on the menu. I ordered 20 tequenos and picked them up at the agreed time. I was already late so I picked up the box that was already closed and the employee told me that she had placed the pink sauce inside the bag. As a Venezuelan, I know that tequenos are not eaten with pink sauce but rather with green sauce, but due to the rush I did not go into details. When I arrived at the meeting I told everyone, with great pride, that they would eat something with a Venezuelan flavor. When I opened the box I was surprised that what they had sold me were the typical cheese sticks that North Americans know and eat with pink sauce. They were overcooked. I was so embarrassed and frustrated that I couldn't give them any explanation. The next day I contacted the owner and he said he would investigate but 3 days passed and there was no response apologizing or at least offering a refund for having sold me something that was not what is on their menu as something typical Venezuelan. You can see in the photos the big difference between what they offer on the menu, which are really the typical Venezuelan tequenos, with what they sold me. What a great disappointment.

I ordered 7 chicken empanadas, 1 ground meat, 1 cheese, and 2 cazón—and honestly, I loved all of them, especially the cazón, which was my favorite. The flavors were great and the food was fresh, the mora juice was amazing. One downside was the sauce situation. We asked for extra sauce, and at first, they refused, which was frustrating. In the end, they did give us one extra, but it felt like pulling teeth. Also, the restaurant could definitely use some cleaning—it didn’t look very tidy. However, the staff was friendly, and the cashier in particular provided excellent service. Overall, good food with room for improvement in cleanliness and customer service flexibility.
