I am a vegan who is always on the look for places I can get a bite to eat -
This restaurant is definitely a decent place to sit down with your family, friends, coworkers Etc - there are very limited vegetarian items, and you have to be careful what you order. Eggs are not vegetarian or vegan safe, and they will include egg in y8uour fried rice if you do not ask for it to be excluded, apparently even if they know you're a vegan vegetarian.
But the vegetarian tofu is good, just be careful with your vegan and vegetarian and ordering fried rice cuz you will waste $10 on some fried pineapple rice that has egg in it that you won't eat
When somebody comes in, and they order nothing but vegetarian items, vegetables, and they're ordering for themselves and a single meal, do not put meat or animal products with their vegetables. People don't look specifically for things that don't have meat in them to be fooled with things like egg in them. Egg is an entire bird in primordial ooze form, it's everything bad, toxic. I specifically ordered pineapple fried rice because it was vegetable, egg makes it no longer a vegetable item
There are so many places that do not understand, and this is the second major chain I found in oklahoma, right here in Oklahoma City IHOP and this place that say egg is vegetable. It's not. It's animal
If you take lettuce of any variety and you put it on a giant platter, it does not matter how many types of vegetables you add around it to create your salad, it is still 100% vegetable
When you add a contaminant, like egg meat or cheese, then it is no longer considered vegetarian or vegan safe, it is now contaminated with a meat source- once again, you can add all the vegetables in the world, but as soon as you add a meat Source it is now contaminated therefore it is no longer considered vegetarian...
Read moreWe went here for the first time last night (a Friday night), since our longtime sit-down Chinese restaurant changed to takeout-only during covid and never opened up their dining area afterwards. Sadly, the place wasn't busy at all for a Friday night during the prime evening rush. This worried us a little bit. However, our group tried the eggrolls, Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, and General Tao Chicken. All the main dishes were fantastic and the portions were more than we could eat. The eggrolls were good, but not as good as our favorite restaurant. None of us cared for the fried rice at all. Opposed to what I read, they are no longer selling pop by the can and have a soda dispenser now. Our server was very nice, and he was very courteous and attentive. Their menu is HUGE. There were so many things that sounded delicious, so we cannot wait to try some different things. But since this was our first time here, we stayed with the dishes we knew to start. We will definitely be back to try more dishes. Hopefully they change their fried rice. The rice was the only downer of everything we had. I have to say though, for Chinese food, this place is a little more on the pricey side at about $20 per person. But at the same time, you have a very nice dining experience (nice restaurant locations don't come cheap) and you get enough food for 2 meals. Hopefully they can lure in more customers and, as a result, drop their prices a little to be more in line with other Chinese restaurants. I think they will struggle being in Del City at their current price point. Inflation has gone rampant, hitting everyone's wallet, and there's tons of cheaper options on SE 29th if you're cool with taking...
Read moreMy coworkers and I tried Yu Xiang Yuan for lunch for the first time today.. It wasn't our intended destination, but we were happy to discover it..
We all ordered different items from their lunch menu.. My fellow diners tried the Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Mongolian Beef.. All of them were abubdantly pleased with their dishes.. All lunch offerings came with your choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, white or fried rice, and an egg roll..
I sampled the General Tso's Chicken with hot and sour soup, the fried rice, and egg roll.. I wasn't disappointed at all..
The soup was served piping hot with a side of fried wonton and had a great flavor.. The General Tso's and fried rice were generously portioned and were served hot and fresh and were decidedly tasty.. Even the broccoli florets were freshly steamed and not wilted like most places I've experienced..
The lunch menu is priced at $10.95, which is an excellent value for the quality and portions received..
Yu Xiang Yuan has done an excellent job launching quality Chinese fare out of the former Don's Alley location..
If you try them out, please note that they accept cash or cards, but charge a 2% fee for card use.. For me, that wasn't a big deal..
10 out of 10 recommend for a high-quality, freshly prepared, and tasty Chinese...
