Jimmy O's is a great local spot that is a big hit with the Del Mar Heights Dads Club. I have had a number of dishes here over the years and as far as bar food goes, the place is top notch. I generally order wings, they change flavors from time to time, but every time my food was perfect. I was a bit sad to see the Blackened Wings pulled from the menu, but I imagine that dish is tough to manage for the large influx of palettes that come in and out of Jimmy Os.
Now for the more important stuff, part of what makes this place great is the awesome staff. Jenna is as good as it gets, you will not get similar service anywhere else... Always smiling, an incredible memory, and her kind demeanor just makes this place worth the trip.
The food from my last visit was so good that my mouth is watering right now thinking about the wings. So, lets rate:
Honey Sriracha Wings 5/5 Blackened Wings 5/5 (no longer available) Ice Cold Beer 5/5 Service 5/5
They no longer serve my previous favorite West Coast IPA from Green Flash Brewery, but the Elysian Space Dust IPA that replaced it is quite good,...

My friends and I met after work Friday as we were excited to find a place with happy hour pricing. The restaurant itself looks great. Very classy and stylish decor. The drinks were bad (at least the $5 wells) and the food was mediocre bar food (not on HH).
The service we received was actively bad. We waited quite some time to be welcomed - though we were nearly the only patrons in the restaurant. The prices we were quoted for HH as well as the published menu prices were actually not what we were charged. We were charged more when we got our bill.
Several times I had to get up and walk to the bar to order a drink or even to pay the bill.
When our server did stop by our table, she spent as little time as possible, had a lot of attitude, and made all 5 of us feel extremely unwelcome— to an extent I have never felt at another restaurant.
It was so bad I wish I hadn’t...
Read moreMy friends and I went to the races last week and were looking for a good place to eat. Googled what was in the area and thought this might be a good place. Was it ever. When we walked up, it looked more like a club, than a restaurant, and the bouncer wasn't too eager to accomidate our need for food. Then another man walks up and directs us up the stairs to throught the side door. As opposed to making us squeeze throught the sea of partygoers (thank you). Once we are in we are directed to a cozy little spot upstairs where a DJ is playing. Not only were we made to feel like VIP's in the place, the food and the music was absolutely wonderful. The drinks were pretty good too, and the prices were VERY reasonable. Later someone told us that was the owner, but we didnt confirm that. I would definitely recommend this place, and...
