This lovely Parisian bakery is my new favorite spot in San Diego. Located in a shopping complex in Del Mar, there is plenty of parking and plenty of seating to make this a perfect spot for quick meetings, a cute brunch spot, or a little alone date when you feel like treating yourself, but need some quiet time too. I came here with my best friend for our annual Christmas Bestie Date, and we were not disappointed. Everything we tried was incredible. She got the mushroom quiche and I got the cheese and onion tart to start. Both were really delicious. The star of the show, however, was the cookie butter rolled croissant. If you like cookie butter, this place needs to go to the top of your list. We also got a few treats to go. We got the double chocolate peppermint croissant and the pain au chocolat. Both of these were also amazing. We both got lattes and they were not our favorite, but Paris En Rose makes up for it with their incredible pastries.
This is the second location for this bakery. The first location is in La Jolla, but it is inside of a store. While from the picture it looks adorable, this location seems to have more seating, as not only are there a few tables and chairs out front, but the Del Mar complex has plenty of seating just to the side of this bakery, where you can sit and enjoy a view of the ocean. Also, the decor was adorable. The pink bike out front makes for an adorable photo opportunity
I saw a few reviews on Yelp that said it was difficult to find so I will do my best to explain. Enter the parking garage on 15th St. and get a ticket. The first hour is free and then it is three dollars for each additional 30 minutes. Park on the second level and enter the complex toward the ocean side. Turn left when you walk out of the parking garage and then turn left again where there is a big walkway. Take that walkway up until you can turn left again and then you will be able to see the bakery on your right hand side. The bakery is on the third level by the New Children's Museum store and Il Fornaio. Since this bakery is new, they don't have the signage yet, so if you want to go soon, I hope the directions are helpful.
Paris En Rose has only been open for two weeks at this location, but you wouldn't know it! The employees were helpful and knowledgeable, and the pastries were so delicious that it seems like an well-established Del Mar fave! I will definitely be...
Read moreI have made a review in the past and I had to leave another one because I want to emphasize how great this authentic patisserie is. There is no other bakery in Del Mar that comes close. Same goes for the larger sister location in La Jolla where you can see right into the kitchen as they intricately work, Parisien Gourmandises. Not only is the owner and main Pastry Chef raised in France, she and the other chefs have worked and collaborated with some of the leading pasty chefs in the industry. Any mixed or bad reviews left on here are either by people who have ulterior motives or just have bad taste in food; you can quote me. Their kouign amann is absolute BLISS. Getting pastries and cake from them is my weekly pleasure. The staff is always kind and attentive. It's immaculately clean. They also have a beautiful selection of imported goods and sweets. For anyone who's reading average reviews, thats just not the case. I see people complaining that sometimes they close early and I can't say thats a fair assessment. They make FRESH BATCHES DAILY to ensure that you are getting the best quality and at times they sell out. Anything that sells out fast just proves my point and is a testament as to how excellent it is. Just had the most incredible birthday cake, "LE ROYAL AU CHOCOLAT". Go see for yourself. Get...
Read moreThe pastries here are out of this world! All of the ingredients are imported from France, which makes a huge difference because it’s less sugar and better quality than American ingredients. The seasonal menu is wonderful. I got the caramel apple butter chai iced latte and a pumpkin spice cinnamon roll as well as some cakes. Really recommend the chai I got. It’s my new favorite drink I’m obsessed. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable. They take pride in their food and take care of the space. They were super friendly and helpful. Everything is baked fresh daily and flavors for the rolled and cubed croissants change everyday, so you never know what you will get, but it’s guaranteed delicious. They are known for their rolled, square, and filled croissants, so be sure to try those. The chocolate croissants are excellent. Literally everything is so good you can’t go wrong. The cakes are life changing incredible. I recommend everyone try at least one. Some are gluten free so just ask. My favorites are le nuage, guava strawberry, le royal, vanilla bean tart, blackberry earl grey, mango passion fruit, the list goes on… They also have a whole wall of products from France and Europe. They even have Swedish candy! I got the Nina’s Marie Antoinette tea and Swedish candy and they were both so delicious....
