If you’re looking for some authentic Mexican food this is your place. They sell tamales, menudo and barbacoa. Everything is made from scratch in the restaurant including the corn tortillas which are delicious (really everything is delicious, the barbacoa is my favorite!). I'm from Del Rio and have fond memories of a good barbacoa. I'd been to a couple of places but they weren't the same. Finally, someone told me about El Toro so I checked it out. AMAZING barbacoa hands down compared to any place I'd been to during my visit.

I don't usually eat menudo out, but it came with my order so I tried it. The menudo was out of this world.

Food is good but is pretty expensive. $3 for a little miniture corn taquitos and $4 for a slightly larger one in flour tortilla. You basically get 2 bites out of the small corn tortilla for 3 bucks It would cost you $30 for a meal for one...
