IHOP — Restaurant in Del Rio

My IHOP experience in del Rio was very bittersweet there was a rude lady in the graveyard shift that was at the front supposed to be giving us a table and having someone serve us basically was so rude so unprofessional I don't know her name she has glasses curly frizzy hair hotel size girl or lady literally tells me and my four friends who were women and had worked a long night and couldn't wait to eat at IHOP but yeah it was greeted with we are not serving really because it's going to be a long wait 45 minutes minimum we are swamped basically saying there was no seats for us yet it was basically empty except to tables that had one crowd and another table of young teens and there was two other servers of men and obviously Cooks we said we could wait and she was so adamant on saying it was going to be a long way and then as we turned around a young nice gentleman that worked their name Daniel settle down waited on us and we were served within 20 minutes and less when she realized this she huffed and puffed around us obviously mad that we were seated and being taken care of I'd understand if they were understaffed and they had a lot to serve but they didn't this is IHOP is 24/7 this is at 4 in the morning I don't understand if she was tired had a long day but she literally was nice to the other table like nothing serving smilingnot only me but every single one in my party not just assumed but knew she obviously didn't like us being there I don't know if it was because I was gay or because she didn't like the girls that I was with but Daniel who served us and should be paid more be a manager I don't know of any sorts but definitely praised because it was immaculate service we were all happy took the big say goodbye and told him thank you for making our night cuz we really didn't want to go to Whataburger not that we wouldn't have mind that either so for that that is why I gave three stars for service n the atmosphere that this woman caused five stars 10 Stars if we had 10 stars to Daniel and the cooks we definitely will come back and we would definitely love to be served by anybody else but especially Daniel if he's there or are they able to please do something about that woman I'm sure you know who she is thank you and I'm only doing this more because to see my my girls my friends my aunt be very irritated and feel belittled is what brought this...

Food was OK.We saw the waitress a total of 3 times. Once when she took the drink order, brought the drinks back and took the food order then when she dropped the food off. I had to go out to the service doors looking for someone because there was no butter on my toast. There were no employees in The kitchen and no employees out where they do the dishes. I had shouted a couple times trying to get someone’s attention then knocked on the door. The manager was right behind me the whole time but i didn’t realize it until she turned towards me (didn’t even get up) and said kind of briskly “can i help you?”...I’m confused as to why she didn’t ask me what I needed when i had shouted a couple times before that. There was the one waitress working and 7 tables seated and more people waiting in the Lobby. Waited 15-20 min after we were done eating for the check which we didn’t even get. Never got any refills or another visit after the food was dropped off. It’s not the waitresses fault but it’s still not OK. Got up out of the booth and walked over to the register so we could get our bill and leave. The manager was at the computer at that point and i expressed my concerns to her and she didn’t even acknowledge that I had spoke and just told me my total. She’s clearly not experienced in customer service. Had she not been sitting in a booth the whole time she probably could have helped...

There is no such thing as a perfect place. I'm just visiting this beautiful city near the border. After a day full of activities I was starving and decided to grab a bite to eat with the family. IHOP was conveniently open and their food selection is amazing. Elizabeth, our waitress was very attentive and quick. I ordered the "Build your breakfast" and asked for 2 strawberry cheesecake pancakes, two over-and-easy eggs, 2 sausages, and a hashbrown. The food came out reasonably quick but the cooking was questionable. My eggs were overcooked(crispy), the sausages were shriveled, and the hashbrown was practically burnt and hard. Next came the pancakes...oh the pancakes. First of all, the were DELICIOUS! I never knew how well cheesecake inside pancakes mixed with strawberries tasted. Unfortunately there was a flaw in them too...a hard one. Literally there was a piece of hard plastic inside the pancake mix! Apparently it was part of the machinery that mixes the pancake batter according to the manager, waitress, and cook. The manager played it off as a minor thing and waived my food fee, which was great and all but I didn't feel like she knew how dangerous the situation could have been. The only person I can thank was my waitress for being quick to inform the manager, very apologetic, and overall very kind. I would have given this place 1 star but my waitress lifted it...
