Update: 3/12/24 Happy to report that Boston Coffeehouse drive thru, is back in our good graces. Today we ordered our usual, which was delicious, and wrapped eating utensils were no longer placed on top of the food. Very happy to see that the management & staff are responsive and are prioritizing food safety.
Update: 2/29/24 changed my review from five stars to two. I really hate to do that because we do truly love this place, and we have been enjoying being regular customers. However.... *One big negative that I hope they address, promptly: it is highly unsanitary to put paper napkins and wrapped eating utensils on top of the food, inside of the container. Why in the world wouldn't you put those items inside the bag? Why place them literally on top of "clean" food?? What this does is basically expose the food to contaminants. I see it as lazy, and extremely indifferent. Called the store to mention my concern and was told " Well that's how we do it here" I'm not so sure what was worse, the mishandling of food, or the attitude of the staff member when given feedback. I do want to mention that they have one employee who is outstanding. Other members of the staff would be wise to emulate Julian. It's really a shame because we have enjoyed not only their coffee beverages immensely, but we've also enjoyed their tuna melt, mozzarella salad, pasta salad, potato salad, and mozzarella tomato sandwich. And I'm sure we will continue to patronize them for coffee beverages. BUT, unless they clean up their food handling act we won't be ordering any of...
Read moreI ordered a 1/2 sandwich with a side of soup deal. They put my order in as a whole sandwich and a side of soup, which I didn't know until I got to work and say at my desk to eat. For the sandwich I got the TUNA MELT with a side of the CHICKEN VELVET soup. This was probably the worst Boston Coffeehouse I've ever been too. I ordered at the window and it seems to be all young kids in there, I'm assuming something got burnt pretty bad prior to me getting there as it was very smoky in there and the burnt food smell was pretty bad. The girl that took my order was very sweet, she's in training but good luck to her because when I asked what other soups they had today, the girl training her looked confused, didn't know and yelled back to the other workers asking what soup they have, to which everyone looked at each other like I was asking a question totally unheard of. And then one girl in the back finally said "just chicken velvet I think" so I said okay I'll take the half tuna melt with the chicken velvet. The tuna melt was disgusting!! It was so watery like they forgot to drain it and they piled so much on the sandwich, and since if was so watery it soaked the bread and it was soggy and gross. As for the soup, it was very very bland. My go to Boston Coffeehouse is on Saxon Blvd but I work in DeLand now so I figured I'd try the new one out. Big mistake. Very disappointed in the food and service. I think they need a manager on site and the current employees there need...
Read moreVisited the Boston Coffeehouse drive thru today (I typically visit the location downtown, which is great). A thirty minute wait in a 3-line drive thru was excessive, particularly when I see the attendants taking bags to and from multiple cars and voicing multiple apologies for order mistakes, etc. It appeared that the staff is in dire need of training. The food tasted great, but placing a receipt directly on my wife's sandwich was not a good idea. Maybe put the receipts separately in the bag, rather than in the food box. I wasn't surprised to see the very average rating on Google, here's to hoping they can tighten things up and get on par with the downtown location, because I am a fan of the Boston Coffeehouse brand as a whole.
Update: I'm happy that Boston Coffeehouse responded and brought me back to my review. We have been back numerous times after my initial review and can happily say that everything has been smooth sailing since. Five stars...
