Squealer's Smoke Shack Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Delapre Township

Our family went to Squealer’s last night for dinner in a group of 9. The service and food were horrible. I will say that the two hosts were the best part of the whole experience. Our waitress however was slow to greet us, slower to bring our drinks and then we saw her twice the rest of the time... she was also spotted in the bathroom two times just standing on her phone. Squealer's has food runners that had to deal with all of our waitress’s mistakes. We only received 2 of 3 appetizers at first and then had to ask for the 3rd one three times… it came about 20 minutes later and about 5 minutes before the first meal. Only one person at the table was offered or received a refill, other than water. When the food finally stating coming out they brought only two dishes and one was completely wrong… one person ate and was finished by the time the next meal came, then it was another few minutes before the last 7 meals came…. Well every meal was room temp and you could tell it had all been sitting under a warmer, 3 of the meals didn’t come with the sides at all and the Kids chicken tenders were served to us uncooked!! That’s right, RAW CHICKEN for a 3 year old!!! The server seemed to not care or even apologize so we stopped the LOUD manager and showed her the raw chicken…. She did apologized but acted like it was no big deal. Then they brought the remade chicken tenders as the rest of us finished our cold food. The manager then took a whopping 15% off the bill, lol!! We didn’t see the server again until we got up to leave! Last night was the absolute worst dining experience any of us has ever had... Never go eat there! Horrible, unhappy server who never smiled and rolled her eyes as we asked for silverware and the food was wicked bad! Cold food, stale fry’s and the grossest BBQ sauce I’ve ever had...

The place has a fun atmosphere. We wanted to sit outside, but they were very busy due to volleyball games at the sand courts they have outside. So we found a table on the upper deck. This area had a limited menu so we went back downstairs and ask the waitress if we could get a table. She said, "sure, there are tables inside." We said we wanted to sit outside and asked if we could sit at the table that was empty, but not cleaned yet. She said yes, but we felt as if we were bothering her. We sat at the dirty table for about 10 minutes before it was cleared.

Our drink and food order was taken timely and brought timely. My husband's pepsi was flat, but our alcoholic drinks from the drink menu were good.

Bacon was forgotten on my husbands burger and they didn't ask how he wanted it cooked, so it was made well done and was kind of dry. The seasoned fries were tasty and I ordered a large house salad which was pretty good, but mostly just a lot of ice berg lettuce.

Our waitress checked on us twice while eating, but once done eating we waited a while and my husband had to walk up to the bar to order our dessert and get our bill.

The chocolate brownie with ice cream was delicious.

Overall, the food was good, but we were a little disappointed with the service.

We chose this place because it was close to our hotel for take-out. I had decent higher hopes for this place but they didn't live up to even half of that. Hate to say that about a place but this is our honest review. Me and hubby split a full-rack of ribs. I am from the south and I have had VERY good ribs many times before at restaurants. My husband makes a dry-rubbed baby back rib (full of seasoning flavor and falls off the bone!!!) and this is not even close to that. Very greasy (not to be confused with juicy at all!). Bland flavor (just tasted the smoke none of the seasoning). Not even close to falling off the bone. It takes a lot to not finish ribs for me. I didn't finish these. Husband was very underwhelmed too. Teen had the chicken strip basket. They were the consistency of McDonald's chicken nuggets but in a strip but with more flavor. Very dried out. He did say the mac-n-cheese was pretty good. The BBQ beans were so-so (husband didn't care for them and I didn't finish them either). Would I go here again? Probably not...should have went with our first thought and had Panera for dinner. Very loud near the bar, teen had to yell at hubby to be heard when they picked up the order. I would have hated it because if I can't carry on a convo at a normal talking level during dinner, I won't be back. Seems like other reviews have mentioned how loud it is in here. Agree with another reviewer, not a lot of BBQ options either for a BBQ...
