Arandas Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Delavan

When we entered a lady was working there who kept walking past us and with it being our 1st time there we did not know if we were to find our own seats or not so we waited a while to be seated. Once she sat us at a table and handed our menus I opened the menu to find a bunch of what looked like old guacamole slathered on the inside of the menus. Automatically made me disgusted. I was thinking "if they don't clean their menus how clean is the kitchen ". But my girlfriend told me to stay and at least try the food and boy am I glad I did. Absolutely fantastic food! As for the service there, it was slow because it was only 2 women I believe who were working the tables so it was understandable to be slower service. Wow, what outstanding food. Very flavorful Steak Mexicano using very fresh peppers and onions. The steak was seasoned just right and didn't have an ounce of fat on it. The rice and beans were flavored just right. Large portions but not overkill.

The service was above average and very prompt. The restaurant itself was very clean.

I would've gladly given five stars if the incoming customers were wearing masks as well as the gentleman who seemed to be the manager until they arrived at their table and the restaurant would have utilized the other half of the dining room to provide a little more social distancing. Wisconsin is experiencing a spike in Covid infections so the lack of masks and more social distancing made me apprehensive. There also lacked signs on the entrance making patrons aware of Wisconsin's mask mandate.

The server and manager were very nice and very were polite. The atmosphere was pleasant.

I ordered a spinach enchilada. After mixing up my order (That happens, no big deal) they came back with my spinach enchilada.

The problem was the lukewarm spinach was obviously spooned right out of can, there was far too much of it, it and tasted horrible. It seemed as though the cook had never made one before. Had the cooked used some fresh spinach leaves, a some cheese and maybe some spices it would have been great.

I had an appetite coming in, but the main course was bad enough I could really eat the rice and beans which tasted okay, nothing special though.
