Do not stay here. Ever. We just recently stayed and two people in our group had incidents of falling down the steps on the pool. The steps and floor of the pool are slimy. There are tiles popping up and are sharp. The hot tub overflowed. There is algae all around the top of the hot tub. The whole place is filthy. We couldn't even get into the pool because supposedly the battery needed to be changed on the scanner, which was told it would be 15-20 minutes. It was never done. They taped the door open. The rooms were disgusting. There were stains on the shower curtain. Stains on the curtains that looked like blood. Everything smelled. You can smell cigarettes and a musty smell everywhere. The sheets were not clean. My husband had brand new white socks on that he walked around in the room for a few hours with them on and they were black when he took them off. They went in the garbage. I've never cleaned and disinfected so much in my life. Three of us in our group are also now sick with Covid since staying there. We got put in a whirlpool room, which we did not reserve. And while that may seem nice, it was the stupidest thing ever. The shower is in the tub. The tub is deep and filthy. Red, slimy bacteria can be seen. There is also no shower bar to get in and out. It's not great for short people or people who were injured in the pool. There is nothing to hold onto to get in and out. Good luck! I also filled out an incident report for the pool situation and was told it would go to corporate and they would contact me within a few days. Corporate never received it, nor do they care because this hotel is independantly owned and operated. They are wiping their hands of anything that goes on there. The idiot at the desk didn't care about any of this. He didn't offer a discount or a refund. Nothing. He made a copy of the incident report and sent me on my way. No case number. No nothing. I will be cancelling my Choice Priv account and credit card. I have no interest in supporting anyone that doesn't stand behind the customer's interest and will do nothing to help. I have a doctor bill from this as well, and won't get reimbursed for that either. This is the worst hotel stay we've ever had. All of us. I wish I had taken a ton more pictures to show the filth of this place. The only reason we didn't check out and go somewhere else is because we were in a crunch situation with a lot going on and didn't have time to go somewhere else. Also, we were locked out of our room early. Check out is at 11. They decided at 10:30 to deactivate our key cards while we were loading up, so when my husband came back to the room, he was locked out. Both of our cards were deactivated. When I brought this up, he first told me that we must have had them next to our phones that deactivated them. I shook my head and responded. They weren’t even together or near phones. And then it was, “well, check out IS at 11.” Uhh, yeah, 11. As I stood there it filling out the incident report it wasn’t even 11. These people are the biggest douche bags I’ve ever dealt with. I gave them a bad review in their and they contacted with me some blanket BS apology. I have had repeated doctor appointments from this whole thing and am pursuing further action against them for failing to literally do anything. I seriously implore you....do not stay here. They need to...
Read moreWhere to even begin... I am STILL awaiting a phone call or email from corporate about an incident report I filled out when there. I have a feeling it just got thrown away, but guess what? You messed with someone who doesn't let things go out of principal alone, so here's some of my list. Besides falling into the pool because of the slimy, slippery steps and pool floor. We barely had any toilet paper in our room. We had to ask for more, and we were asked for our room number. Why? Not sure. Were we going to be charged for "extra?" And we heard another guest asking for tissues and toilet paper also, so it's not an isolated thing. We were given a whirlpool suite, which I didn't book, and while that may have been nice, it's stupid here. The shower is in the tub. There is no grab bar to grab onto to get in. I'm short. It's unpleasant and dangerous. They should not be one in the same. Ever. And getting out is even worse. Not just because of the step down, but because the fan that's in there was obviously disconnected from the electrical, assuming it was to put a light above the tub. So now everything is humid and sweaty, making things even more dangerous. EVERYTHING, and I mean everything, was dirty. The sheets didn't smell clean, so I'm sure they weren't. There were stains on the curtains that look like blood. A stain on the shower curtain. The floor was so filthy that my husband's new white socks were black from walking around in our room for a few hours. I took a photo as evidence. I was stuffed up the entire time I was in our room. You could smell cigarette smoke all over. I saw staff walking in and out of the back door and just standing right there, smoking. We had no access to the pool right away. We tried multiple times with several guests in our party. Hours later, I went to ask, and was given a key card that's given to people that just come to swim. Still didn't work. Was told they would change out the battery on the scanner. Never happened. They just taped over the latch so that it could never actually lock. Hot tub was overflowing and made the floor a slippery mess. I had to go and tell someone. It also smelled of natural gas in the pool area, which I also reported. There was absolutely nothing good about our stay. I will be writing a bad google review and I would give a zero, if I could. If we didn't have things planned that kept us busy, I would've just checked back out and left. I'm sure if I thought about this more I could tell you some other things. These are just the things that quickly...
Read moreMy husband and daughter drove from Colorado to Wisconsin, 16 hours straight to make my mother in-laws funeral. They called about 10:30 pm as they were driving to book a room and confirmed twice that someone would be there to check them in as they would be arriving between 2-3 am. They were exhausted by the time they reached the motel and just wanted to sleep. However, there was no one at the desk to check them in. They rang the bell, walked around, called out… nothing, no one came. Reluctantly they left and had to drive around town looking for a room. They were so tired they were hallucinating. They finally found a room and were able to slept for a few hours and get a shower before heading to bury his mother.
About 10 days later a charge shows up on my credit card from this place. When I called to inquire, they said my husband and daughter were “no shows” so they were charging them a cancelation fee. I explained what happened and they basically said I was lying… huh? They said there is always someone at the desk and there was no way it would be unattended. I tried to explain that my husband and daughter rang the bell and called out and no one came. Their response was “that’s not possible.”
Ok who, in their right mind, would drive 16 hours and, instead of checking in to a room they already have reservations for, decide they would rather drive around town at 3 am looking for another vacant room someplace else?!!!
I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. It’s not even that much money, but the idea of being taken advantage of and being called a liar when their employees are not held accountable for abandoning their responsibilities at the front desk. They say they have cameras and can see when someone comes in…. THEN LOOK AT YOUR VIDEO FOOTAGE AND YOU WILL SEE YOUR 3rd SHIFT EMPLOYEES ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOB!!! Whether I win or loose this battle, I will never stay at another Comfort Suites, or any other affiliated motel or hotel. Ever. I’ll sleep in my car first.
This place has the rudest employees I have dealt with in my life. I personally think whoever was working that night must be sneaking off to sleep somewhere and they don’t even care because they’ll make money anyways by charging you a “cancellation fee.” How can it be a cancellation if there is no one at the desk to check you in...
