Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Delaware

I haven’t been to Apple bees in a long time but the service here was terrible !!! So when we first came it wasn’t that many people but they had 3-4 hosts just hanging out at the front. We were seated however we sat there for about 15 minutes before someone came over to us (again the restaurant wasn’t even crowded). Im telling my dad we should just leave but before we provided to leave the waitress comes. She says nobody told he that she had a table.

She takes out drink orders and then that takes about another 10 minutes….for drinks….My dad ordered a coffee and his coffee was warm not hot. The waitress never came back to check on us at all….my dad saw her helping other people and could not get her attention but not once did she ever come by and check on us to see if we were okay or if we needed a refill.

Eventually he had to ask someone if they could get her because this lady literally never came back to our table . When she finally came she seemed lien she had a little attitude idk and she took his coffee back for a fresh one. She brought the fresh one out and again…disappeared never checked on us again . The next time she came out was to bring out the kids meals but that was it. They got their meals and we waited for our meals to come which a gentleman brought out …again her never checking on us .

When we got our food the fries were like room temperature not fresh. She never came back so my dad again has to send someone to find her. She says she will get us fresh fries and left. By the time she came back I noticed the fries I had , had HAIR in it! I informed her as she was bringing hot fries and I guess she informed the manager because she still took awhile To even Check on us and by the time she did she let me know.

The manager comes over and apologizes and said a fresh plate is being made and he was going to bring it to me personally. He was a kind man but at that point I was over the whole experience. When he brought out my plate my dad asked for a round of the endless shrimp. That ordered was placed by the manager (the actual waitress still never came back to check on us at all). Finally the waitress brings the plate but just shrimp and not the fries. The shrimp was nice and hot but it’s unlimited shrimp and fries. I just asked my dad if we can wrap it up because it was the worst experience I’ve had in a long time. I also said we should have left when nobody even came to us and the restaurant wasn’t even crowded. Needless to say I will not be back to this location .

The manager on duty was extremely rude!! The pregnant waitress however was extremely nice and attentive. My daughter and I had.s signature theirs. It was very strong, so my daughter and I took at the most to 2 sips, my daughter and I could not finish the mail so we ask for to-go boxes. The waitress brought us to go boxes as well as a to-go drink, so I put my daughter and I drinking it and put it in the bag with the other two go boxes. The manager came over and said we cannot take are drinks outside of the establishment we would have to drink it there or forfeit it. my daughter and I decided to forfeit it because we did not want to drink that and drive because of it being so strong so we decided just to forfeit it it was at the end of the table with a dirty dishes so they could take it. A name for seeded and a hostile voice said you was that if you put it back in the bag and take it out of the establishment I am calling the police. And then said to him do you see it with the dirty dishes we decided to forfeit it, his hostility started raising his voice so that other patrons in the establishment where are now having to see this show, I politely said to him we are not taking it and we're not going to drink it because of the strength it's not worth driving under the influence his.hostility in is voice sounded like Evie's going into range hey gang said I am going to call the police if when I walk away you put the drink back in your back I continue to tell him lately you see it is with the dirty dishes we are not taking it there's no need for you to have your voice this loud with other patrons not being able to enjoy their dinner right now enjoying the show that the manager decided to displayat that point he walked away the waitress came back over handed me the check I paid her she politely apologized and was extremely embarrassed of her managers behavior as was I because there was no need for itI did not know it was illegal to take it out of the establishment which I said to him and said it wasn't a big deal for you too raise your voice and hostility afte paying my check , topped the waitress appropriately, telling her it was not her fault as she could not understand his hostility and walked out. I am a 62 year old woman, I understand the first time he spoke to me and told the to go container of liquid out! He did not have to put on a show and be so ignoran!!!!!!!! Terrible experience in my opinion. I took my wife and father for a late night dinner only to be poorly greated and then seated in the very back corner by the bathroom which wouldn't have been an issue if I had brought my kids. Now keep in mind the place wasn't busy and plenty of seats available. Would've like to watch one of the many tv's while we waited for our waitress to visit our table, many minutes later. Order an appetizer, spinach dip n chips, drinks came after awhile sporadically, my wife's drink came first then a few minutes later my father's, ginger ale, then my drink but not before the appetizer, which looked old and was crusted over and broken chips too small to dip. At that time i went to the restroom and found the place was filthy with urine on the floor sinks covered with what i hope was someone's spilled drink but I've seen worse. Washed my hads and found no paper towels in sight, if not for my wife and father and the fact i was so hungry I would've left at that time. Time goes on, remember it's late night and not busy, food arrives. Now the food wasn't bad, small portions but otherwise okay. We all got the bourbon chicken and shrimp , I asked for a side skewer of shrimp and was told that was not on the menu (clearly states in the menu they have this item or I would not have asked for it) but without warning and to my delightment I received the shrimp skewer. Moments later with our plates not yet empty, we received our check and then asked if we would like desert. Well I would've tried some desert but wasn't unappreciative of receiving a check first clearly not finished with our meals we received moments earlier only to realize I was charged for a substitution on my meal which comes with the one side I received and didn't sub out. I believe it wasn't very professional of the staff to handle my family and I in the fashion we received. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy and ruined any further chance of...
