Went here because a friend saw an article in Delaware Today (I did not see it). The interior decor is very nice, the space is small with table seating and seating at the bar. The noise level is very high, the four of us were seated at a table and it was near impossible to hold a conversation. We shared the Charcuterie Board the cheeses were nice as were the house made crackers. This was the highlight of the night for me. My oysters were small and not prepared correctly. the muscle connecting the oyster to the shell was not cut on four of the six. Which meant I had to wrestle with them thus to eat them. For my main course I had the haddock, I believe the menu said "in the Thai style" which I took to mean it would have a little heat to it . The presentation included a waiter pouring a broth over the fish, it must have been chicken broth because it had no flavor to speak of. While the fish and veggies were prepared well it was under spiced and definitely did not have any hint of Thai influence I was hoping for , so I was very disappointing.Everyone else had the same experience, the food was prepared well but for restaurant in this upscale area trying to be that, Upscale it just missed the mark. The service was a little quaky also quick at first then non existent. On the bright side the wine list is excellent. I was hoping this was going to be a four star experience (above average ) but feel that they fell way short of that, even to the point of not being a three stars (below average) for an upscale restaurant. Thus the two stars.

My husband and I went for brunch and dinner to celebrate our first wedding anniversary! Bar Reverie definitely exceeded our expectations— Brunch was the yogurt parfait and the “Brunch Punch” cocktail, both very nice and well-balanced + my husband got the crepes (served with 3 different toppings!) It seems the morning (Breakfast/Brunch) is slightly more casual than dinner. Make sure you have a reservation for dinner, because when we went it was packed! Portions were just right and the quality of the food was worth it for the price. There’s a very large wine selection, we asked about the best pairings and were given a few choices based off of our preferences; definitely so that if y’all, like us, don’t know anything about wine. Cocktails were also good, well-balanced and not overly- strong All the waiters, hosts/esses, managers, everyone who works there are very attentive + knowledgeable!

We visited Bar Reverie for the first time today for brunch and really liked it. The service was great! We were immediately greeted with big smiles and chose to sit outside. Our waitress was charming and friendly and checked up on us frequently. Great atmosphere and lots of comfortable seating. Another plus point for purse hooks at the table. We had the three egg omelette, crêpes, green tea and mimosas and enjoyed our meal. Would order the omelette again. The crêpes are good for outside of France, but shockingly you can actually find better in Delaware. All in all would definitely recommend Bar Reverie, and we will definitely be back to try other things on the menus. Just hoping for more Vegetarian options.

Mixed bag. We've been for breakfast and dinner. Pastries and breads are incredible - Gretchen is absolutely killing it. The cranberry financier is particularly incredible. Atmosphere is fun and different from other things available locally. Patio is really pleasant. Drinks were strong, creative, and delicious.

At dinner, food arrived from the kitchen with no garnish, no thought about presentation, etc. The lamb lollipops were good. But just lamb on a plate. Frites were a bit undercooked. Tomato tart was good.

The staff is friendly and mostly attentive, but they are a bit green and could benefit from additional training. For example, they served the frites with three sauces and didn't say what they were. One of them (which looked like some kind of ketchup) was unexpectedly spicy - almost like cocktail sauce (?). They sent all of our hot and cold food (apps, mains) at the same time without second thought and then several servers expended a ton of effort to fit all of the plates on a two top.

Sadly, the charcuterie is not worth getting. Especially for the price, it was uninspired. No garnish - just kind of bland looking. It didn't come with the condiments described on the menu so we had to ask, and still only got one of the two. It was served with three tiny little crackers/breadsticks for the whole charcuterie plate. (Strangely, our final attempt at BBC a few years ago ended with a cheese plate that had similar issues).

We'll try again because it has potential and I really want to like it. For now, coffee, pastries, and drinks may be the best ways...

Dave, My wife & I frequent BR often. Yesterday on Easter we wanted to treat the family to a special outing and albeit it started off nice it did NOT end well. The waiter “Wyatt I believe” a younger gentleman I could tell was put in the middle of our situation. His service was very good. My wife made reservations on line and no where did it indicate a special closing time. We assumed you were open as usual. Our reservation was at 3:00 and thinking since there wasn’t any times that we could have gotten later that you were booked for dinners. That wasn’t the case. It was just the opposite. We had the last reservation unknowingly to us! We were rushed to hurry up & order “per the kitchen” and when we were done eating & asked if we wanted coffee and said yes we then were handed our coffee in a TO GO CUP!! I spent $400 to have a nice dinner and atmosphere like we are accustomed to then basically asked to leave by handing us each a TO GO CUP!! If it was too late for the dinner to be scheduled then adjust the web site and advertising accordingly. Also if management would have stepped up and come to the table and communicate/apologized vs putting Wyatt in the middle this could have been different. Will need to think hard about coming...
