Pizzeria Maki — Restaurant in Delaware

If you’re in Greenville or passing through for a night, this is the place to try! I passed it so many times thinking to myself “pizza and sushi…what?”

The first time we ordered there the cashier was so nice, he walked us through the menu and took his time helping us decide. And if you’ve ever seen my girlfriend try to decide on something off a menu, his patience would only be appreciated that much more!

On this last order we had an issue with the door dash delivery driver. He drove up to our house and then drove off, no pizza delivery. I called and the manager let me know what needed to be done and got me set up with a new order (this one I drove to pick up myself). Door dash told me in so many words that they weren’t taking responsibility for the issue, so it’s still unresolved. But I don’t mind the pizza is worth a little hassle.

It’s Greenville’s hangover cure as much as it is greenville’s game day pizza...

Overall, very disappointing. I was mistaken about their status as a restaurant, the only eatery options are take out or sitting outside (there’s only one table, two chairs). We spent $73 on two specialty rolls and three regular maki rolls. We also tried the naked edamame, it was cold and bland. The soy sauce helped some, but not much. The rice on the rolls was very dry and sour, the rolls were uneven in size, and the quality of the fish was subpar. For the price, the quality does not match up. The menu online doesn’t match the menu they hand you in person, and the tv display screen has items that aren’t available on the menu. As a food critic and someone’s who’s worked in the restaurant industry for years, I find the dishonesty and priciness to be incredibly frustrating. Besides the food being completely delicious and fresh, the customer service is off the charts. I placed an order online, including a gluten-free pizza for my daughter that has celiac. When I picked up, I realized I completely forgot to ask What contamination may be for the gluten-free pizza. Jamie Helped explain to me that there was cross-contamination and he was happy to make something else gluten-free. My daughter picked out a sushi bowl instead, and he whipped it up quickly, Safely and replaced it with the gluten-free pizza. Certainly didn’t have to do that considering it was my mistake. Rare to find wonderful customer service like that today. I appreciate their flexibility, their quickness to make us something new, and all of the Precautions taken for the new gluten-free dish.
