We booked a reservation for a party of 20 to celebrate my newborn daughter's christening (an extremely significant event) on 02 December 2018. My wife first contacted Pizza by Elizabeth to make the reservation back in early October and was told a manager would have to do the booking and would give her a call back that same day. She never received a call back, yet due to her interest in hosting the reception at Pizza by Elizabeth, my wife called again a week later. This time she was able to speak to a manager and get the reservation on the books (and proceeded to name Pizza by Elizabeth as the reception location on our formal invitations). We called twice to confirm the reservation (last confirmation was on 28 November, five days prior to the event). When we arrived to the restaurant on Sunday, the staff said they did not have any reservation for us scheduled. Frustrated, my wife explained that we did have a reservation and that it had been booked a few months prior. The manager on duty argued with her that there was no reservation and that my wife clearly did not make one. She stated that if my wife had made a reservation then it would be in the system, which it was not. She told my wife that she must have called and made a reservation at a similar restaurant down in North Carolina by mistake. Insulted, my wife insisted that she did not make that mistake as she is well aware of the phone number to Pizza by Elizabeth. After several attempts to relay to the manager that we did indeed book a reservation, we showed her our phone record to prove we had called the correct restaurant. She then realized we were not being dishonest and did some research. Twenty-five minutes after our original reservation time, we had all of our party (including eight senior citizens and my wife's sister who had to leave at 3:30 for the airport) in the lobby waiting to hear if the staff would be able to accommodate us. As we were debating on whether to just leave and go elsewhere, the manager informed us that an error had indeed been made by Pizza by Elizabeth and that she had found our reservation in the system for 02 December 2019 (one year from now). She then explained that she could try and put some tables together in the lobby area if we'd like to fit our party. The staff then spent the next 25 minutes getting an impromptu setup for our group. Around 3pm (about an hour after our twice confirmed time) we were seated and were able to start our meal. Unfortunately, the hour delay resulted in two members of our partying having to leave to make their flights before the main course was served (and missing out on cake entirely). Before we asked for the check, the on-duty manager explained that she had removed some of the charges to express her apologies. The bill was $506 (before gratuity), so for a blunder like this I was expecting a significant discount, especially seeing as all of my guests were inconvenienced (embarrassing myself and my wife). I was surprised to see that the manager's discount for Pizza by Elizabeth's mistake was a measly removal of three appetizers from the bill (equaling $42) and no plate fee for the cake we brought in (which we should not have been charged for to begin with seeing as no one ever told my wife about a cake fee when she originally booked the reservation). Here are my chief complaints with Pizza by Elizabeth: They incorrectly scheduled our reservation. I'm all about prior planning, but why would we schedule a luncheon 14 months in advance for December 02, 2019? We called and confirmed this reservation twice (phone records to prove it) and each manager we spoke with overlooked this. Upon showing up for our reservation, the manager on duty initially stated that we didn't have a reservation and insinuated to us (in front of our guests) that we were being untruthful about booking one. After doing some research and realizing the scheduling mistake, the manager offered a pathetic financial compensation for the blunder (a whopping 8% off the total bill if you...
Read moreI just finished eating here and had only heard good things about it. I had eaten here previously during lunch and the food and service was good. So where do I go when I’m on the way back home after a long day being hungry, pizza by Elizabeth’s. Sadly I was disappointed. This starts with walking in and not seeing a host, looking towards one staff member that ignored me and my boyfriend, then another staff member told us to keep walking and someone would help. Ok we get to the host stand and we finally spot the hostess bussing a table, she comes over and seems lost. We ask for a table for two, at which point she looks at us like we have two heads. After a very strange back and forth she told us to wait. While we were standing there waiting for her, she did a roll up of silverware on a visibly dirty napkin and kept touching the head of the fork and knife she was doing this with which left me not wanting to use the silverware. Once that got awkward she said she would check the back for a table as there were reservations, once she walked back and told us that their were no tables she said we could sit at a table in the bar area, to which we agreed. Instead of sitting us she put us on a waitlist and we were confused. We asked if we could get food at the bar, and were informed we could. The service was even weirder from this point, we must’ve sat at a bad spot because all of the service staff would gather behind the bar in front of our seats to gossip about other staff members and complain that it had gotten busy, which in fairness it was busy but it was nothing more than a standard dinner rush. My boyfriend and I were both off put by this behavior as we have multiple years of service experience between us and couldn’t imagine talking about other employees or customers in front of customers. The two bartenders barely asked if we wanted anything. We put in our food and drinks a few minutes after we sat down and we think that everything is good. The appetizer comes out and it’s delicious. After about 45 minutes we ask where our main course is. The bartenders tell us they would check. We figured they had forgotten since others around us that had come in and order 20-30 minutes after us had already gotten their food. Once we ask for the food it arrives shortly. My boyfriend is a little annoyed because they keep ignoring us and won’t refill his drink. Over all the food was good and maybe sitting in the main dinning room would be more enjoyable, but the host and bartending staff seemed confused and overwhelmed by what was a very standard...

Found this place on a whim on the way back from Wilmington. We were looking for a casual lunch spot so took to Yelp to find a fitting location.
This place has great reviews, and the options for vegetarians were decent (and who doesn't like pizza?)
It's located in a large shopping complex right off the main road so be sure you look out for it as you near or you'll miss where you have to enter into the plaza - and then you're stuck turning around and trying again (and all that mumbo jumbo that comes with it...)
Upon entering, there is a small outdoor/indoor space with a relaxing water fixture and small tables before entering into the main dining space. Inside it's open concept and very comfortable. The bar meets you on the right, and the reception counter to check in is adjacent to the bar.
I had made a reservation and we were a few minutes early, but they were able to seat us readily - woot woot!
The menu is pretty diverse - I love that there were vegan and gluten free options. There's also monthly specials in the beginning of the menu - the list showcases dishes using more seasonal ingredients. We chose to go with the "regular" pizza pie - and they were able to split the pie into two different variations (since we couldn't decide on just one recipe hehe). The pizza was delicious! The portion was ample and I could taste all the ingredients. It was just the right amount of hearty without feeling stuffed - which is always my yardstick of measure of how much I enjoyed a meal haha.
The server was great in answering all our questions, and checked in on us plenty to see how things were going. We definitely enjoyed ourselves, and ended up staying through the lunch crowd to dinner time! Even so, there was no rush from the wait staff to move us along which was very nice of them to let us hang.
I'm definitely going to keep this place in mind if I find myself in the area again. I'll be looking forward to trying more menu options and since there's more to discover with the changing specials - who knows...
