I'm really disgusted with what I witnessed in the store today. I was there to get food for myself and my boyfriend at the Rehoboth store around 2:40-3pm. Something I do every week because we love the subs. Today however the manager there completely disgusted me and turned me off to the entire store! I had to sit and watch as she humiliated one of her employees that just showed up for his shift. I watched as she suspended him for not having black shoes. My heart broke for this poor boy as I watched him tell her he is to poor to afford any new shoes right now. This boy looked so humiliated telling his boss that in front of everyone and she in turn said she didn't care and he was suspended for a week. Like have a heart woman. What is wrong with you? The whole situation made me sick to my stomach so I cancelled my order and walked out. As I left I saw that poor boy outside crying on the phone to someone about how he didn't know what to do because he has no money to buy shoes and now he can't work because of it. That manager should be ASHAMED of herself for what she did to that boy publicly!! The funny thing is, she suspended him for shoes. Yet I didn't see her even wearing a jersey Mike's shirt like everyone else was. She was in a white Tshirt and I was shocked when the other employees told me she was a manager. Seriously get it together jersey Mike's. That's no way to treat a kid let alone one who wants to work and who's poor. You should be ashamed!! I wish I knew that poor boys name. I'd get him shoes myself just to make that arrogant and rude woman happy. I truly hope karma comes back to bite you miss!...
Read moreI came to Jersey Mike's under sheer desperation after not having eaten in what seemed like a literal millennia. I walked in the door and was instantly greeted by a booming man with a huge smile plastered over his face asking me what I've been up to, and how I've been doing. I suspect that in an alternate universe, he was a therapist because the manner in which he listened to me made me feel both supported, and in a way --- loved. I'll be honest, I came into the store completely content with just a meatball sub, but this man looked me straight in the eyes and told me that I deserved better, and for a sheer moment, I truly believed the life that he spoke over me. A glimmer in his eyes appeared as I ordered what he recommended -a cheesesteak with perfectly melted cheese, meet cooked to perfection, sautéed onions, and green peppers- because he knew what was in store for me. A fantastic and beautiful girl whose smile lit up the room quickly ran over and began her preparation for what was about to come. Words cannot describe how I felt while eating that sandwich. I said grace not only before eating, but during each bite because I was reminded what a gift each sandwich was, and how I may never taste something so good ever again. I actually yearned for the pieces to get lodged in between my teeth, so that I would be able to continue taste this gift for the rest of the day!
I was changed that day at Jersey Mike's Subs in Rehoboth, and I want to encourage all to step out on a limb and treat yourself as you deserve to be treated. You will...
Read moreSaw a situation at this store that frankly was unnecessary and uncalled for. I don't know if the manager was having a bad day or if she just blatantly is that mean and disrespectful to her employees. An employee came in for his shift and I watched his manager belittle him Infront of everyone all over some shoes! This young man was told he was being suspended for not wearing black shoes. We all got a front row seat of watching this poor young man then tell his manager that he is too broke to afford new shoes right now and he didn't know what she wanted him to do because he has no money. She told him flat out then you're suspended for a week starting now. I felt this young mans total humiliation for him. It was mean, cruel and totally unnecessary. She could have had some humility or even human decency and maybe suggested that he have until his next check to obtain said black shoes. I mean seriously as a paying customer i don’t honestly care what color shoes someone’s wearing. The young man wanted to work and actually came into work which is great and the only issue was his shoes?Especially in today's world where everyone is low staffed because no one wants to work. Yet this woman just humiliated her employee that wants to work and then suspended him. If this is how you treat your employees then I wont be a...
