Dooney's Pub Delran — Restaurant in Delran Township

i have only written a review twice in my life for an establishment and both were for Dooney's. Last time after multiple bad experiences the manager called me directly which i truly respected. so we gave it another try. i have been there for dinner,lunch, drinks and takeout multiple times. we are local so we appreciate the pub like atmosphere that is the only one like it in this area.came in sat at the bar where most of the seats were taken but people where not behind those seated trying to get a drink. so the bar was really not that busy. the manager was helping out behind the bar and got us drinks and menus from there everything went downhill. the manager had left and the two bartenders both ignored us. every time we wanted something we had to try to flag someone down. no one ever asked us if we needed anything else or even gave us napkins or silverware. it was like they were looking right past us and when they did take our orders it was like we were a burden. we eventually ordered some apps. multiple people had come in after us and ordered and got food before we had even ordered. after 10-15 minutes after we had ordered the bartender came back to us and said they had run out of chili. asked if i wanted something else and i ordered the buffalo chicken dip. my wife s food arrived and we started eating. 15 minutes later the manager who originally served us came back and said "I have good new and I have bad news...we are out of buffalo chicken dip but the good news is that is have all these other great appetizers to order from". i declined. we got the check as soon as i could get someone to acknowledge us. the check had the server listed as the female bartender who did't serve us at all. maybe the male bartender who brought us our stuff was mad that he was serving us and not getting the tip.we had got truffle fries that use to come with a garlic aoli but they don't now. so i asked for a side of the thai mayo which they charged me for. we left and went around the corner to ott's. when we sat down we started talking to two ladies that said they would never go back to dooney's again due to similar experiences. the one lady summed it up perfectly when she said " I really wanted to love dooney's". i couldn't agree more. if you want spend money somewhere where they make you feel like a burden, dooney's might be the right...

I've been to Dooney's four times in my life, and I've had one DECENT experience. The first time I went the service was great (maybe 6 tables with customers in the place), but the food was something else. I ordered a Buff Chick Wrap (one of my favorite meals) and I couldn't eat more than half. I sometimes go for their 'Mug Monday', which my friends commonly joke as Mini-Mug Monday. Craft beer specials are two dollar per mini-mug. I sat down late to my friends table and waited patiently for the in-experienced waitress to come over, I waited some more, then stared at her as I saw her on her iphone for 5 plus minutes, hiding from the manager, I continued to wait. While waiting, I talk to my friends about how bad the service is and my friend tells me that before I got there he found a UNWRAPPED WET NAP in his MINI MUG BEER. Meanwhile more of my friends meet us there. I was sitting at my one table furious with my waitress for basically ignoring me at this point because I gave her the stink eye. So I left and sat at a larger table on the other side of the bar, praying to get a better waitress. At that time the other waitress comes over and hands me a bill for a beer I never even saw, or drank, or ordered. I was at Dooney's for 30 minutes and still didn't have a beer in front of me. The manager comes over and tries to make me pay for this invisible beer. I tell her what happened, asked where my invisible beer was, and I walked out. The waitress is clearly flustered and acted like there was an invisible line she couldn't cross to the other side of the bar to where my friends moved so we could all sit together. at this point I wished she stayed on her phone. A few weeks prior, we left because of bad service and while trying to close out, the waitress goes around our table struggling to figure out who had what beers, which doesn't make any sense because every beer was 2 dollars. "Yes, can I please have a 90 minute hold the WET NAP please." I went down the street to Ott's Tavern and tipped my waiter enormously, it was like a breath...

My family and I visited this place today. This is not the first time we have been here. And we did enjoy it in the past. It has probably been over a year since we had been there. The minute we sat we noticed some changes. The menus changed. They appeared smaller. The waitress greeted us and asked if we would like to start off with something to drink. We ordered two cocktails and a Pepsi for my son. We were also ready to order and so we proceeded to put in our food order as well. We ordered chicken nachos, an order of wings, sweet potato fries and a burger and Mac and cheese. The food came about 15 minutes later. Two ladies brought the food neither were the waitress who first took our order. She did not return to the table. We had to stop someone else to fix an issue because the nachos arrived with no chicken. A few minutes later our original waitress came back. At that point I was frustrated as she never returned with our drinks, did not bring any plates for any of appetizers we ordered to share and did not bring any napkins either. The food was terrible. It was bland. We were so disappointed and agreed we would not return. We cancelled the order for the drinks that never came and asked for the check. It’s unfortunate.
