I have been a fan of this restaurant for the past fifteen years. Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be on a number of levels. The service, the quality, and the smaller portions of food reflect a their decline. Also, the prices have skyrocketed to the point of insulting their customers. Now, a small glass of soda is $10. Why? It's a desperate and opportunist grab by the owner. We had ordered chicken marsala. It used to be that you would receive two chicken filets. It's now one small 5" pounded chicken breast. We had ordered the flaming apple tart. The waiter had poured vinegar instead of cognac over the top that made numerous failed attempts to light. When we went to eat it, our throats burned... Asking the waitress to make it right by taking off one of the $10 sodas she complained, stating, "But I didn't charge you for the dessert." What? We also brought a friend to celebrate a birthday. At no point was her birthday acknowledged. The overall experience would be rated an "F". It's sad, because for years, the owner acted as though he cared. That's all changed. Spend your money at a place that cares and provides...
Read moreHow lucky we are to have La Cigale, last night was New Year’s Eve- COVID style and La Cigale was the perfect place for us. We had our own beautifully lit tent and table out in the parking lot. Our car, with two fire cracker fearful dogs, resting a drug induced sleep were nearby. We enjoyed our own blues music thanks to Pandora and JBL while we were waited on by attentive masked staff! PERFECT COVID SETTING. The food....the food is always excellent, Patrick had oysters and chicken francaise, the portion was huge, there was horseradish for his oysters, he was happy. I had to try 4 different reds, ( thank you Brian for doing this with a smile under your mask and a hop in your step) I enjoyed the crab meat, endive, hearts of palm salad with the best dressing ever, and for dinner.....THANK YOU FRANCIS....for the return of the pappardelle with mushrooms and truffles. THIS TENT IS THE MOST ISOLATED COVID SAFE SETTING AROUND,WITH DELICIOUS FOOD AND TERRIFIC...

The crowd, on one hand, made me feel quite youthful as we were the only ones not with gray on top I recollect, but managed to feel slightly out of place as well. Nonetheless, it was quite enjoyable as they had an older gentlemen singing hits by Sinatra and other classics along those lines. As for the menus there was nothing creative or out of the ordinary I would have liked to have seen so we opted for the grilled lamb chops were cooked rather well and flavorful. Nothing mind blowing, but worth getting. The chicken francese, pictured, was generous in portion, fresh and tender, rather enjoyable. Again, not the best I’ve had, but if I ended up here it would be a possible repeat. With a supremely friendly bartender that served us, it was a...
