When booking our trip, I called the Residence Inn Delray Beach to verify there was a space for our rental moving truck as we were specifically flying in town to relocate and would have a 22-26' moving truck for part of our trip. We were assured that there would be room in the annex lot across the street, however due to excessive rain the regular parking lot was flooded and there was no space for our truck which rendered an issue. We were sent to the Bank of America parking lot and told we could park there by the girl at the Marriott however there was no room large enough there either. Upon arriving and getting checked in, we noticed loud banging sounds along with extremely loud drilling above our room on the 7th floor. The room was perfect with a beautiful ocean view however we were exhausted from our trip and needed rest. We asked to be moved due to the extreme noise and were immediately moved to the 4th floor (with no ocean view and extremely small balcony) and could still hear the drilling and banging. At this point due to all the construction noise resonating throughout the hotel we would have moved to another location however this was the only hotel in the area that accommodated what we needed so we had no choice but to stay. That evening we noticed the broken shower. The temperature regulator broken was poured out water that was either scalding hot or extremely cold. We had to call maintenance and have it fixed which resulted in us being late for dinner plans with friends. We also had a broken iron in our room. We were not able to iron our clothes until we received a new one. Every morning at approximately 7am, the refrigerator made a loud popping sound. We thought initially it was the ice maker but was not. We tried figuring out where it was coming from but were unsuccessful. Unfortunately, it was not fixed and had to deal with being woken up every morning of our vacation to a loud popping sound at 7am! Between the extreme loudness due to the construction renovations being done there at the hotel, not being able to sleep due to that and the refrigerator noise, and having parking issues which had been prearranged, we were extremely disappointed with our stay there. We have stayed in various Marriott properties and have loved each of our stays however this one was a huge disappointment. I will say that Lovelie and the other young lady at our time of check in were extremely nice and did their best to help assist in...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn for one week during Christmas and New Year’s. We experienced quite a few problems with the hotel that affected the quality of our vacation. To start on the positive side, the location to the beach is excellent. The continental breakfast has a variety of options, including healthy choices. Vanessa, one of the front staff was exceptional as she tried to remedy some of the problems, starting with our room. Our first room, located on the 11th floor, was dirty. The kitchen area floor had not been swept, the utensils, some of the plates, and the cutting board were dirty. Because it was late in the evening, I decided to wash the dishes we needed to eat our dinner. However, the dishwasher was broken. It was old and rusted on the inside. The racks were broken and did not move on the inside rail. Lastly, the vent in the bathroom was broken and hence was extremely loud. There was no way to turn it off as the light and the vent were located on the same switch. In the morning, we spoke to Vanessa who relocated us to room 108. There were no other rooms available (I assume that was based at the rate I paid). She let me look at the room before I confirmed the room change. It was slightly bigger, the dishwasher appeared new, the bathroom vent worked (but still on the same switch as the light), and the room was clean. The only downside was that the balcony faced the swimming pool area, so to maintain any level of privacy, we had to keep the curtains drawn during our entire stay. The room was rather dark with the curtains drawn during the day. In addition, the hot water was never very hot throughout the entire stay in either room. No matter what time we showered, the water was lukewarm. Three days into our stay, the air conditioning unit stopped working. Though the engineer tried to fix it, it worked for one day and then broke again. We basically gave up at that point. Lastly, though it was no one’s fault, the hotel experienced a water pipe break. A notice was sent early the next morning that the water would be shut off from 10:00am to 1:00pm. However, it was shut off at 9:15 and was not turned back on until 3:00pm. We were unable to shower or use the toilet. Overall, the hotel requires a major renovation. It is old and outdated. The staff is the saving grace. We would not stay at this hotel again or recommend...
Read moreMy stay at the Marriot Residence Inn in Delray Beach exceeded my expectation. I booked a week’s stay for my birthday celebration. As I arrived, I was checked in by Ms. Paige. She was professional and friendly. She wished me a happy birthday when she looked at my I.D. The room that I ended up with was great. It was an Ocean front view on the 7th floor, thank you, Paige. If you are driving, they have parking available for $20.00 a day, and easy access in and out. The room was clean and spacious. The balcony was great for hanging out in the mornings to see the sunrise with a cup of coffee. The sunrises were spectacular. You have a great view of the ocean from the bed, and just about from anywhere in the room.
The Kitchenette was nicely stocked, with dishes, glassware pots, and pans. You can have grocery service delivered to your room if you choose. I brought some small groceries with us which kept well in the full-size refrigerator. The Kitchenette was adequate for small, light meals and snacks. There is breakfast served every morning. They have several typical breakfast options to choose from.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The assistant manager was very nice as she greeted me every morning when I came in from seeing the sunrise on the beach. The hotel is very close to the beach, a 5-minute walk. There are restaurants and stores to visit all within walking distance of the hotel. Atlantic Ave has a lot of interesting sites to see. Pineapple grove is not too far, and the Arts Garage has performances quite often. I will be back to the Marriot Bonvoy at Delray Beach. Thank you for a nice birthday...
