My wedding took place at Aloft Delray Beach on June 1, 2024. Firstly, I want to emphasize that this review does not reflect my overall satisfaction with the wedding coordinators, bar staff, or front desk. Ryan, Tanya, Ivette, Fara, Shannon - nothing but love you all are amazing. My wedding experience was incredibly positive and unforgettable. However, an unfortunate incident occurred the following day.
On June 2, 2024, my mother-in-law, was in the process of gathering her belongings to check out when she noticed that a bag containing wedding cards with money intended for us was missing. Mind you this was around 10am and official check out time is 12pm. Upon questioning housekeeping for the bag, my mother-in-law encountered a "communication barrier" with the woman who had just left her room. The woman claimed to not speak any English. After persistent requests and stating police would be called, housekeeping finally produced the bag from her cart hidden under towels. Although all items were returned, it was disconcerting that the envelopes had been ripped open. According to the hotel's policy, rooms are cleared if items are found during the checkout process. However, it raises concerns as to why the housekeeper inspected the bag and opened the envelopes instead of leaving them untouched until returned to the front desk (Please see photo included for reference). Furthermore, the hotel's policy of cleaning rooms before guests have fully checked out may lead to confusion and anxiety if guests' belongings are prematurely removed. Despite expressing our distress to the hotel manager, there was a complete lack of empathy and understanding towards the situation. My mother-in-law departed feeling violated and disregarded, adding complete distress following our wedding day. It is disappointing that Aloft failed to address the situation adequately, leaving us and others questioning the security of personal belongings in any Marriott hotel.
I reached out to Marriott Corporate and was told they would get back to me. It's been almost 2 weeks, I have sent follow up emails with no response.
Update: Marriott NEVER responded. This is a huge disappointment as I would think a situation like this would be important to preserve their standards of...
Read moreSure, I can start by describing the hotel, but in this case, it's absolutely necessary to start with what's truly important: The People!!! Wow. I was blown away. I've stayed at 5-star hotels whose employees don't want to be there. Of course, I've had amazing experiences as well. But to be honest, very few hotels that I've stayed at having a truly cohesive and excited crew like the one I experienced at Aloft. To me, it's the little things. No matter who I interacted with at the hotel, I was always greeted with a smile and kind words. Truly the sign of a well-trained staff. It all made sense after speaking with the hotel's General Manager, A.J. , truly one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. He has nurtured a staff that love their jobs! Truly an outstanding stay. As for the property, I loved the location. Just a few blocks off the main Atlantic Ave. downtown area. A nice respite from a frenetic Ave. (at times). Rooms are large and trendy. Everything in the hotel is super clean! Nice chatty bar in the lobby and a pool on the 2nd floor to catch some rays during the day. They have a small menu as well. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting anything special. And then my order arrived. Their chef knows what he’s doing! If you’re in a lazy mood during your stay, rest assured you will be well fed, so you choose. As you will note, I don’t write many reviews. However, this visit was special! Admittedly, I read a few reviews before posting my own. I saw one complaining about the theft of medicines from their room. Which strikes me as odd. When I was changing my clothes in the morning, I accidentally dropped $170 on the floor. A hundred, a fifty and a twenty. When I returned to the room a few hours after housekeeping had cleaned my room, I was shocked. A hundred, a fifty and a twenty neatly sorted on the counter waiting my arrival. More importantly, when I did have interaction with the “cleaning crew”, each and every one of them were gracious and kind. I would be more concerned with trusting those you traveled with than assigning blame to such an amazing staff! I’m already looking forward to my next “staycation” in...
Read moreI stayed here doing Hurricane Ian and the weather here was not affected (just rain). We were suppose to check out Sunday but we are leaving early. We have to leave this review because it’s so ridiculous. We spent over $1,200 for less than a week here and it’s been headache after headache . BEFORE we even booked we asked if they had room Service since we knew most of the places May be closed, they assured us they did. Upon arriving we had to use the service elevator because the elevators have been broken for days (still Not fixed and we got here Monday). Tuesday morning we try to place a “room service” Order for breakfast. We call the front desk to place the order and they were like “yes, we have room service but you have to come down, place the order here, and then wait for it to take it back To your room” that is not room Service. The TV also has not worked for basic channels Like Football games. One of the days the “chef” didn’t come until later. We specifically chose this place so we wouldn’t have to leave the premises. There is also no communication among staff, for example, one of the times we got Stopped by staff for using the service elevator because they had no clue the guest ones were broken & so we were told To use these . If you ask For Something like towels they come 1 hour and 43 minutes Later even tho the hotel was not busy at all and they were not under bay state of emergency. The doorbell they have at each room makes the sound a fire alarm Would make so every time it’s touched by someone it makes that fire alarm sound which is extremely loud with flashing lights. There is no level of “Comfort” Here which is what you would expect from A hotel at this rate. Save your money, stay at a Holiday inn or the like where you are at least prepared to not expect much but you also are not paying much. I would Have saved so much money had I found another place. Aloft needs to either step Up their game or...
