I’m always on the hunt for local hidden gems. If you’re an ice cream lover, Lilly’s Handmade Ice Cream is a spot is worth the visit. Crowned the #1 ice cream shop by the Sun Sentinel, this family-owned gem in South Florida has earned its reputation for good reason. Only five years old and thriving post-COVID, they’re dishing out treats that feel both nostalgic and with a refreshingly modern twist.

I was told they make all their ice cream in-house, with natural ingredients—no artificial flavors. You can actually taste the difference. Plus they kosher and vegan-friendly options. That means pure, high-quality indulgence without the tummy aches! The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with cheerful vibes. The decor is a charming blend of vintage and modern, with pastel walls, quirky ice cream cone art. Whether you're grabbing a cone or planning to linger, it’s the perfect spot for families, couples, and solo adventurers alike.

The menu is as exciting as the atmosphere, offering 12 classic flavors alongside 4 rotating seasonal ones. Some standouts? Cookies & Cream, Espresso, Kindrella (a Nutella-inspired flavor), and their vegan Coconut.

My personal picks? The ice cream sandwich— I went with their peppermint a creamy, minty scoop served between two Oreo cookies. If you love waffles get creative with their and their warm waffle topped with Salted Caramel and Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. The salted caramel struck the perfect balance of sweet and salty, while the mint chocolate had just the right amount of minty freshness, accented with chocolate chips.

If you’re into toppings, you’re in for a treat. From Reese’s and Oreos to cookie dough and sprinkles, there’s something for every sweet tooth. They even sell candy if you’re in the mood for a little extra indulgence.

Can’t make it to their shop? Lilly’s ice cream is served at local favorites like Dada, Avalon, and Deck 84, so you can enjoy their creations throughout the area.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, Lilly's Handmade Ice Cream is worth the visit. From the quality of the ice cream to the welcoming atmosphere, it’s a wonderful...

While driving back up from Miami, my 15 year old said he wanted ice cream. After all, what else would we finish our day with after pigging out on bbq?!? We have a spot in Boca that we love but I have seen the posts about Lily's Handmade Ice Cream on Facebook since they opened and wanted to try it..

We talked about the importance of supporting a local business and how Lily's opened during the pandemic. Off to Delray we went to support this family owned business. This is, literally, a mom and pop business that includes mom, Elise, and dad, Ronen Gilinsky, along with their children Ori and Noa.

This gem is such a happy place thanks to Noa's beautiful paintings...be sure to check out the bathroom. Yup, I KNOW I have never written those words here before.

Ori let us taste as many flavors as we wanted and believe me, we tried almost all of them. The hardest part was picking which two we each would ultimately eat. The top quality of the ingredients was evident and confirmed as Ori and I chatted about the Barry Callebaut chocolate, pure vanilla, natural mint and on and on and on used in each flavor.

Our only regret was that we were too full from our bbq venture to dive into sundaes but we know that we will definitely be heading back. It is...

Lily's has the perfect milkshake and Ice Cream the way we remember it being. I made a weird request and they obliged without teasing me. This is the perfect milkshake for me. Always patient for those of us who are remarkably indecisive. They don't mind when the shop is busy and don't look bored when you're the only one there. I've always found the shop to be clean. It has a family vibe and you'll see parents with their children as much as you see adults and elders. Open late, so swinging by after work and sitting after dark eating something yummy is a regular move for the regulars. I'm not here every week, but it is a major treat after working out on a weekend. Anyway, the point is this a good place with a good atmosphere and I recommend you drop in at least once if you're in the Delray area. I put some pics here to give you an idea of the spot. Everyone just cleared out so it was the perfect time. Me? I'm sitting here sipping some vanilla goodness.
