I placed my first pizza order from Pacino's tonight and was not disappointed. The food was excellent. The girl on the phone was polite and was very helpful in the ordering process. We ordered a 14" (to them this is medium - to corporate chains it's a large) margherita pizza and added some pepperoni to it. It's one of the best margherita pizzas I've honestly ever had. The crust was firm without being soggy and crisp without being too "bready". Most pizzas of this type tend to be fairly greasy where this one was not. It had a nice blend of basil and garlic, which really make a margherita pizza great. Additionally, some restaurants do not put pizza sauce on their margherita pizza, but Pacino's does and it was delicious. The girl on the phone said it would take about 15 minutes to cook. Per Google, my house was 17 minutes from the store in Deltona, and it was ready when I arrived to pick it up, without having sat out for too long.
My only criticism has to do with the pricing. The pizza was nearly $22 for a 14" which is a LOT of money. Even most of the other locally owned (non-chain restaurants) pizzerias are not this expensive. It's understood that food cost is higher than it used to be, but the pricing may affect how often I can afford to eat here. Regardless, the food and service...
Read moreI ordered a large meat lover's calzone from Pacino's @ 17.99+tax. When my sons and I opened it we noticed there wasn't any ricotta cheese in it. I figured it was just a mistake and I could call to get it fixed.
When I called to ask why my calzone did not have ricotta cheese, I was informed that ricotta cheese is extra and it would have to be requested at the time of order, so basically "too bad", even though my "Calzone" isn't really a Calzone at all. I have never heard of having to ask for ricotta cheese in a Calzone.
After all, isn't that the differentiates it from a Stromboli? They simply said "You'll have to be specific next time", ther will not be a next time.
I was specific, I asked for a Calzone and all Calzones have ricotta cheese. But no worries, they were so rude when I told them I expected ricotta cheese (so does everyone ordering a calzone btw) I'll...
Read moreWe went to the Deltona store, on Saxon Blvd...We bought four slices of pizza, two with pepperoni and two plain...and sodas too...we were going to the dr, and we were hungry...we were there, at the Deltona store, and my son and I opened the boxes, we said to each other, doesn’t look that great, but maybe it will taste better! It wasn’t true though, it looked like it had been sitting for a while, if not overnight, because of the crunchy black sides of the slices, and the sauce was very spicy too...it didn’t taste like an Italian marinara sauce, where you put in some herbs, but nothing that burns the tongue! Also, the back of the slice had black stuff on it, that happens when the ovens need to be cleaned! Needless to say, I will probably not ever go back! Or recommend them, to even a dog! Thanks for reading and have a...
