We came in as a large party. We did call ahead and told them we were coming. They told us they werent busy and that they could accommodate us. We called as a party if 20 coming from the funeral home across the street. We did end up having an extra 8 people join. But everyone was understanding that only one server was working and we knew it was going to be a bit. We weren't in a hurry, as we were visiting with eachother and again understanding that it was only the server and manager working. After the drink order was taken the manager just stood there watching the server run the drinks. She didn't try to help her at all. While the server was taking the food order her only table that was there before we were was trying to cash out with the manager. She told them they would have to wait for their server to cash them out. After the few appetizers that were ordered came out, it took an hour for food to start coming out. 4 people in our whole party where the only ones who got their food in time. They had finished their food before any of the other food started coming out. One of the couples in the party wasn't feeling well and asked to just cancel their order. The manager got upset and told them it was coming out. So they asked to just have it boxed up. They then paid for it. 20 minutes later their food still wasn't out and they had to leave. Another couple in the party had ended up taking their order home to them. 2 and a half hours later more then half of our party still didn't have their food. Meanwhile 2 other tables walked in and the manager ended up serving them. Their food came right out while again more the 15 people were waiting for their food. When we finally got upset and tried to talk to the manager she basically told us it was our fault for having seperate checks 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️I'm still unsure how that makes any sense. But OK Lilly. She let her team down and watched them fail while she did nothing to try and make things right with our party. When the food finally started coming out, there was raw fish, a piece of plastic in my daughters pancakes, undercooked and over cooked food, and items missing. The manager was only worried about her 2 tables she waited on and didn't even apologize to anyone in our party. She hide in the back, ignored our party, and was all around very unprofessional for someone in her position. I truly felt bad for the server, this was clearly a management issue that I hope for the sake for the employees can be addressed and fixed asap. Micheala was a great server and she did the best with what she was...
Read moreI absolutely love Perkins but so upset that they discontinued the Tomato Basil Soup.. The soup was one of the reasons that I order from Perkins.. I usually always order a Big Bacon BLT with Tomato Basil Soup through Door Dash.. Last week I ordered my usual and I received chicken noodle soup and instead of a pumpkin muffin I got a piece of pumpkin pie which I do not like at all.. So whenever I place my order I always call to ask them to put my Big BLT on sourdough bread, I wish they would add it to DoorDash app as an option the have it on Uber Eats app.. When I called the assistant manager Josh answered the phone and when I asked to lease make sure they get the soup right for my order which they had not on my last order Josh proceeded to tell me that Perkins no longer has Tomato Basil soup.. I was so upset and I asked why and he proceeded to tell me that it is no longer available on the website when they place their order… I was so upset and explained that is the reason I order was strictly for that soup and he was so apologetic and offered me something else in its place which was great customer service!! With the colder weather coming this is going to be hard trying to find another place that offered Tomato Basil soup as good as Perkins had.. Please bring it back!!! Also Josh sent me a replacement muffin that I did not receive from last weeks order.. That is great customer service!!! I will continue to order from Perkins but not as often due to the soup issue.. PLEASE BRING BACK THE TOMATO...
Read moreTonight my wife and I visited Perkins in Orange City again and I had to stop here and give them a review. When we walked in it took maybe all of 30 seconds for us to be greeted by a smiling hostess that made us feel as if we were coming home to relatives to enjoy an evening of friends and family for dinner. And then that’s when the highlight of our meal appeared, Ms Bridgette! From asking us what drinks we could start with until handing us our check Bridgette was not only a pleasure to meet but she brought me back to a time and place where service, kindness, and dedication to her craft as wait staff meant something. In a world today where professionalism and pride in a job well done are hard to come by, Bridgette excelled beyond our expectations. Our meal was served and she made sure my small requests were met without complaint. The food was “the cherry on top” for our dinner, Bridgette and all the staff at Perkins in Orange City made tonight’s dining experience a pleasure. My wife and I are more than just satisfied customers…we will be REPEAT customers! If there is such a position as VP of wait staff training I would nominate Bridgette to run that department! Thank you Perkins Orange City cooks, front of house, and a big thanks to you Bridgette for making a wonderful dinner...
