Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Denison

Monday, July 28,2025 6pm. I had the most horrendous experience at the Denison TX location! I went through the drive through and ordered 2 pc combo w/ mashed potatoes & sweet tea, 3 pc tenders w/mashed potatoes & sweet tea. She hurriedly repeated the order through the horrible speaker which made it indistinguishable & said to pull forward. I paid with cash, got my receipt & change. While waiting on the food, I reviewed the receipt. Was charged for 3 pc chicken, 3pc tender & 2 sides of m.potatoes. Got a sack of food & she close the window. Didn't look like she was getting our drinks, so I motioned for her & told her I was waiting on the drinks. She said that would be $6.04. I said they are included in the combos. She said you didn't order combos. Yes I did. Well I didn't take your order. Get the girl that did. She comes to window, same discussion. I said get the manager. He comes over and argues that he can't give away free food because his boss is watching on video. He argues & argues. Told him to give me money back & I'll return the food. I said, this is very bad customer service & will be even worse because I will tell all my friends not to eat there and I will never come back. He said I DON'T CARE. Sorry but ever since tony started working the front this has gone down hill from very good place to eat to about the worst if he waits on you, real scatter brain cant get the orders right leaves food off you order, has to constantly check you order and still leaves food off. The vietnamese lady and her son are the best help churches has. Never had any problem here the 20 years i have eat here, till Tony came here i dont know what his title there is but he is the worst i have ever dealt with this past week i went there had an order for 45.00 dollars and of that order, simple, he left 2 large mashed potatoes and 2 ears of corn off my order, and the bad part is i live anout 18 miles from churches and by the time i realized what had happened my famil had already sat down to the table to eat and realized part of it was missing, i called Tony and told him what he had done, all he could say was i will mske it up to you just remind him the next time i come in, i wasnt about to drive back then all the chicken would have been cold, should have just loaded all of it up and taken it back and got my money back and gone to chicken express . I hate to write poor reviews but I think some changes need to be made here and am writing so they will make adjustments. This was my first time at this Churches. I first ordered the smokehouse family deal and it would take an additional 15 minutes. Fair enough, so I switched to the 8 piece mixed deal. The staff was super friendly and doing their best during these times of staff shortages. I was asked again if I wanted to wait for the smokehouse and I should of said yes in hindsight. I was given three extra pieces of fried chicken because "it isn't very fresh." I thought how nice, thinking maybe it wasn't straight out of the fryer and would be fine. The other issue they somehow should address was the constant flying in and out of their window and my car window of flies. I am not particularly shocked by flies in Texas summers but this seemed a little much. Anyway, I drove ten minutes to get home and when I attempted to eat the chicken, it was more like jerky. I totally got the fact that it wasn't fresh. I am not sure how old it was. but I have never had chicken that bad.
