I loved this place when it was Best Burger barn. When this place was freshly Iron horse I came in and we enjoyed ourselves. Good food and the staff was great. But tonight some friends and I went in for dinner and the experience was a bit different. They had a new guy working, he let us know he was new. Great, love to give people the benefit of the doubt. We were trying to be very understanding. He had trouble with taking our orders. That's ok he is learning. But some of the food came out wrong. But again we were understanding, nothing critical at all. We had to ask him to refill glasses. He only took two cups from our table of five and filled them. I thought he would come back and get more but he didn't. But ok fine. I didn't need a full new glass of tea. But it's just something wait staff needs to learn. Pay attention you your tables, mind you they where not busy. But what really upset us was we were not even halfway done with food and he quietly walks over lays the check on the table and walks off. Never offered dessert or asked if we needed to split the check. About 10-15 minutes later he comes back and we are about done eating he grabs the check book and starts walking off. My friend had to stop him and tell him we had no money in it yet. And said we didn't even get a chance to order dessert, And that we needed to split the check up. The guy asks us how to split it we tell him. And he comes back offering us dessert. We did order dessert. After we finished he had told us to come to the front so we could help him split the check. I'm not saying this to get him or anyone in trouble or to shame the place, food was great we will be back. I'm only saying this because that poor guy needs to be trained alot better. I understand he is new. But being that new and nervous he should not have been walking the floor alone. He should have had an experienced staff member showing him the proper way to wait tables. I do hope the next time I am there he is there and doing great at his job. We all did still tip him in hopes he can become...
Read moreI’m leaving my original review below, but updating the rating quite a bit. I really appreciate when business owners respond to adverse reviews like this one did and I’m actually sorry it took me so long for a follow up visit. Our dine-in experience was excellent. The food was delicious. I had the Fried Smoked Bologna sandwich and my wife had a Texas edition Philly Cheesesteak. Everything was fresh and quality was excellent. Good value for the money as well and they have a wide selection of good beer (and a full bar).
Service was a little bit by committee (and that wasn’t bad) because the waitress has a lot of ground to cover
Original Review based on delivery Order: Ordered baked potato and fried mushrooms for delivery. Mushrooms fine, but the baked potato was still way hard. Nuked for 4:30 and still had a couple of hard spots. If they can’t get a baked potato right, it’s hard to imagine they can get more...
