The worst, probably racis*, take-out associate ever. Her name is Morgan (given to me by the manager Tim M). I would give 0 stars if I could.
Here is what happened: We ordered a pizookie today around 8:10 pm through BJ’s website via their curbside check-in process. The website gave us an estimated time of 8:40 pm for it to be available. Since it was just a pizookie, I casually walked into the take-out desk and asked Morgan if she had my order—my intent was to request to see if I could pick it up if it became available before 8:40. However, I wasn’t even given that opportunity. When I asked if she had my order, she said she did not. I was surprised and pulled out the email I received from BJ's that had my order number, name, and even the store address. She said she didn't get it yet. So, I showed her that the website says the order is in and it will be ready at 8:40, so I would come back then to check. I went back to my car and waited there until 8:48.
Remember, it was a curbside order, so I expected that someone would drop my order off at my car, but that didn’t happen even though I did a curbside check-in. So, I went back to the take-out desk to check if my order was ready, and it was. I looked into the bags and didn’t find the plasticware, so I asked Morgan if she could give me some. Guess what? She said they didn’t have any. I knew she was lying, but I walked out, took a few steps, and then walked back in to talk to her manager. While she went inside to call her manager, I found another waitress right at the take-out desk and requested plasticware from her. She said, "Oh yes," and went back inside to get me two. Nice of her.
Now, Morgan comes back and tells me that her manager is busy, and I see this guy in a blue polo shirt walk right beside me to the hostess table. I thought he must be the manager, so before I walked to him, I showed Morgan the plasticware and asked her why she lied about being out of plasticware, to which she said, "I thought we were short of plasticware." By this time, I knew this person was either out of her mind or was purely racis*, so I decided to talk to her manager, who was at the hostess desk, which was about 10 feet away from the take-out desk. I told everything to the manager and got his name and Morgan’s name from him, and he rightly apologized for everything. I asked him to talk to Morgan and have her apologize to me. By now, Morgan had gone inside, but I could see her. Tim, the manager, went inside and started talking to her. They chatted for about 90 seconds before I had to leave because I had my wife and infant waiting for me in the car.
This whole episode made me think that either Morgan is just senseless with a poor attitude towards other human beings or is just a pure racis*. I am not going back to that...
Read moreMy wife and I have been coming to BJ's in flower mound for a long time. ( We go there on Sunday night to get the prime rib special ). I never have any issues The services are always great the atmosphere is great and the food is always delicious. Tonight we were at our granddaughter's dance recital in Denton and decided to go to BJ's in Denton. Same restaurant chain totally different restaurant experience. We got there on a Friday night a little after 9:00 p.m.. there wasn't very many people there. We ordered two appetizers and we ordered the special on that pizza with the pelosi ice cream. After our appetizers came out we waited 30 minutes and still nobody came around to refill our glasses. We could not find our waiter anywhere finally I walked up and asked the manager Karina if she knew where our waiter was we've been waiting over 30 minutes to get drinks refilled. She came over to the table with me and told me she would bring us refills. Someone else brought out our pizzas. My wife ordered the vegetable pizza with no mushrooms. When a waiter brought her Pizza out he asked her if she was allergic to mushrooms because they put mushrooms on it. My wife told her that she did not like mushrooms and that's the reason why she ordered a pizza with no mushrooms. He told us no big deal will bring you one without mushrooms right away. 45 minutes later no pizza. I had to go back up to the manager and ask her where my wife's Pizza is. She told me she would go check on it. She came back out from the kitchen and said that they burned the second pizza and that they were making a third one. She said no worries I won't charge you for the pizza??? We asked her if we could then order the ice cream pelosi's. After another 30 minutes no pizza no pelosi ice cream. I went up to her again for the third time and asked where the pizza was and the ice cream that we ordered 30 minutes ago. She said she would check on it so we said just get it to go and the pizza to go because we've been here 2 hours. They brought the pelosi ice cream out on a plate not to go and they brought the pizza in a box to go. We decided to just eat the pelosi ice cream and not take it with us because it would cause more problems. While eating the ice cream they brought another Pizza out to us. We told them we already got our pizza to go. I can honestly say this is the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. When I asked the manager what was the issue because there wasn't many people here. She said oh...
Read moreWell...we tried BJs again tonight for my wife's birthday. My last visit review is below. With the restaurant less than 50% capacity at 7 on a Saturday, it's obivious this location is successfully shooting itself in the foot over and over. We've seen a consistent decline in the location prior to the pandemic. We used to go to Lewisville for years prior to Denton's opening. We travel the country often and BJ's is my favorite restaurant. However, Denton is, or has become the worst BJ's in the 40+ we've dined over the years. Tonight our food was cafeteria quality at best. Our server seemed to be frustrating trying to earn tips in a failing restaurant. The server turnover is crazy. I've always never tipped below 20%, but tonight, I've had enough. I love the Pazooki's and we ate there tonight to have the birthday Pazooki, but our experience tonight was sub par, just to be polite. Over the years we've discussed the problems with your floor managers and all they do is comp what we complain about. We enjoy, anumber of 5 star restaurants in Dallas/Ft. Worth often and around the country. We are not looking for free food. We are wishing our local, and formally our favorite restaurant to improve, but to no avail. I see other reviewers saying "go to Lewisville BJs". BJ's Denton is about a mile from us, but need to drive to Lewisville. BJ's Denton is dying a slow death and my wife and I are very sad to see it continue to dissapoint.
First Review: We have been to this BJ's location since it was built. Food and portion size used to be terrific. Before the pandemic, food was good, but soon after, portions were shrunk and the last couple years prices have shot up at least 20%+ we staying home. My wife and I are good cooks and we are moving closer to just staying home and making something better than BJ's at 1/4th the price and not paying a tip. We would often, between the two of us have a bill with drinks over $70. We can replicate it today for $15. However, the big problem we recently discovered is all beef products, steaks, hamburgers, etc are all cooked/grilled to MEDIUM via a grill conveyer like Burger King. You can't order a steak medium rare. We asked and was denied. This is a non-starter and is quickly closing the door on going to BJ's since it's now obvious, no one in the kitchen can cook a steak. Might as well be McDonalds. Really sad to post this, but it's how my...
