Man this place blew me away. This was my first time here so I did not know what to expect. I came for a Birthday for a friend where a D&D game was being DM'ed by someone there as a reference point. Parking was not the best only because it is the area, not the place itself. It is located right in the square so if you are there to walk around for a bit and see a few things it makes sense and would not be bad. For someone who was coming to this place for this event, I had to walk a decent way because I did not find a place to park close. When I walked in, I knew I would like the place. There are a ton of places to sit and drink beer with a great selection. I had a couple of selections and all were great. I loved the wall of board games that you could choose to grab and play. I saw parents with kids, what looked like a teenage boy and girl on a date, a group of people in their 40's all playing a game. It was fun to see that. What I did NOT expect was to be led to a staircase that went DOWN. Underneath his really cool and large room up top, sits 3 separate rooms that could be closed off and held 6-8 people I think per room. I did not get a good look at one of the 3, it may be bigger. It is all wood and feels like a Tavern from the old days. Really cool setup down there and a great feel! Seating was comfy but I do feel like the room we were in that was for up to 8 people did not truly fit 8 people (with a DM). We had to have someone sit on the side away from the table. Another thing that was lacking a bit was the lack of power outlets as we are all D&D Beyond users which means we had laptops. So we had to make that work. One last thing was that although the rooms were separate, they were still close to each other and we would hear the other group as they triumphed. This was not a bad thing, just calling it out. Our DM did run late but was amazing. She did a great job. Because she was late, we all got a free round on the house which was a great gesture. I had a great time and would...
Read moreSuper excited to finally have this place open! They've got an excellent selection of games. A little bit of everything from classic and familiar like Uno and Sorry, new and popular like Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, ttrpg source books for things like Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder, and some of my personal favorites like Betrayal at House on the Hill. They have craft beers on tap (and one cider currently) and other drink options available in bottles/cans. I'm not a beer person usually, but the staff (shout out to Alice!) helped me find a tasty one to sip on as I played. Price on drinks is pretty comparable to other craft breweries in the area. There's also a $2 (+tax)/person table fee if you're playing games, but you are allowed (even encouraged) to bring in snacks, your own games, and spend all day there. While playing, staff wander around and chat with you about the games, and if you're confused about the rules (or need someone neutral to judge the winner of something) they all have such extensive knowledge of the games and help out. There are tons of different places to sit. Dining room sets, a few barstools paired with countertops, and even couches and comfy arm chairs. I am looking forward to spending plenty of time here with friends and exploring their vast library of games. They also have a discord server for people to make plans to meet up for games, create ttrpg groups, and to offer suggestions to make the place even more amazing. I think the links are up on their social media accounts. Come...
Read moreMade a reservation for 7 people and D20 Tavern was super accommodating even when we had a couple of extra people show up. They were happy to grab us more chairs and help us move some tables around to fit us more comfortably. Our reservation cost nothing (this was during their soft opening, so subject to change) and was easy to setup with just a phone call. The $2 game fee per person is a great value, and their game library is very impressive. I love the variety of light/mid party games all the way up to chunky games like Nemesis. All staff is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I love walking in and being able to talk games with strangers. The bartender was also great at giving us some beer recommendations based on our tastes. The front section is a bit more lively with bigger groups playing games, and in the back it's a bit quieter with some comfortable couches for smaller groups. The tables in the front are very roomy which is great for large groups and large games. There's also some smaller bar tables for smaller groups/games. The tavern also has clean, spacious, and private gender-neutral restrooms which is always appreciated. We loved our experience at D20 Tavern and wish this business the best. This is such a great spot for gamers, nerds, and their friends. I only wish I lived closer so I could visit more, but I definitely can't wait to see this business thrive and visit every...
