Jupiter House — Restaurant in Denton

Woe! I hadn't been since the renovation. It doesnt look like the same place. Gone are the old worn out couches. The place now has a hip new feel and look. Which includes an upstairs loft.

They partly moves the order counter closer to the door which I think attracts more walk byes.

Whoever redesigned the place has a great eye.

The only thing I would recommend is a menu to view while waiting. They had one menu that I could see that you can pick up and look at while you are at the register ordering.

I wasnt sure what they had so I had to wait to figure out what I wanted until I got to the register.

Then I felt a little rushed to decide because people were behind me.

It would also be nice if they had hand sanitizer after touching the one menu that is handled by everyone that orders ahead of you.

The length of time to get to order felt like it took about 7 to 10 minutes and there were only 2 orders in front of me, a total of 3 people. Not sure if it was because they had to wait to decide until they got to the menu.

The red high chairs that make up a lot of the seating are not very comfortable as they are pretty close to the bottom of the very long table. Skinny legs will not...

I used to go to Jupiter House all the time before the fire and I would've given it five stars back then. While it has never been "craft" coffee it was something special in terms of the atmosphere and the flavor combinations in the drink specials. Additionally, all of the people who worked there could pull decent shots of espresso consistently.

Now, it seems that their standards have dropped and maybe that's because they hired so many people on such short notice but I think it's been long enough to even kinks out. They advertise fresh baked goods and I guess that's true but they buy all of the dough premade from someone else so it seems a little disenguous. Also, every time I've been in they have pulled my shots way too quickly plus leaving the portafilter out to cool results in a less than stellar extraction and not too good tasting drink. It's just dissapointing because of what...

And this is why I don’t tip beforehand ! We came to this place for a coffee after a 7 hr drive to check out the hype …Nope don’t recommend and will never come back. We asked the lady if she can make us the latte with the kitty on it she said yes I made it and takes a minute . After we payed I heard her complain about the not tipping ! Excuse me but how can you tip before being serviced? I always tip on cash and after being served not before even sitting down . I know how hard baristas work and I’ve traveled around to try many talents ..You know people can hear and see your ugly faces . So than she didn’t do it and we received our latte like in the pics . Not only that the other coffee had regular milk instead of oat milk which of course we can tell …Obviously in this place they will only be nice and do your lattes properly IF you tip beforehand!...
