It saddens me to have to make this review. This is literally one of my favorite places in town. Tonight though was just enough. We waited 10 minutes for our server to greet us. When Scott came over it was a “you wanted a shiner bock” No hello my name is or anything. We didn’t even want a shiner. We ordered food at 8:20 food did not even come out until 9 and when it did it was so cold. I asked our server about the egg drop soup I ordered because it came out with a hint of brown color. He said he didn’t know why but it was in fact egg drop soup. I went inside to find someone because our server was no where to be found. I was able to speak to someone at to go. Explained the soup and our cold food. She said oh I’m so sorry that is our sweet and sour option in the egg drop soup it has a vinegary taste. She said she would see what she could do. Our server comes out and says that their is nothing he can do and we can either pay our bill or he was going to call the cops. I then proceeded to tell him to call the cops because I wasn’t going to pay for the food. He then argued with me. Told me I wasn’t there for 45 minutes and that it had only been 20 minutes. He said the owner does not give refunds since he is such a small business. Threatened me with the cops again. I said please call your owner, he disagreed and then came back with a check that had only a few items on it. The point of this post is that you never argue with a customer no matter the circumstance. He continued to argue and then offered to remake the food. At that point I was so upset I didn’t even want to reorder the food. The fact that their was no manager on duty to talk to. Also because I was threatened with the cops. As we were leaving the patio he turned off the lights we weren’t even get out of the gate yet. I cannot believe the way that we were treated. All we wanted was to just leave and he made it seem like we were awful people. We love Mr. Chopsticks but I cannot believe the experience...
Read moreTerrible service, horrible and disappointing food. My roommates and I stopped by on March 10, 2022. None and I mean none of the tables inside were clean. I only managed to get a picture a few dirty tables. we stood in the middle of the restaurant for about 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us. It took another 5 minutes to get a table cleaned. Keep in mind that the employees saw us and avoided eye contact. They the servers were all over the place and there weren’t that many people inside the restaurant so I don’t know what was going on. It was too cold to sit outside and we weren’t wearing heavy jackets. When we finally got seated no one gave us a menu so we had to get up and take one ourselves. It took another 10-15 minutes for someone to take our order. The cup of water I received was dirty, it had some kind of black gunk at the bottom and the water was extremely cloudy. The food didn’t take too long to get to us but my food and one of my roommates’ food was room temperature. I got the mixed vegetables and the main veggie in my food was carrots. Half of my chicken tasted like it was marinated in ginger. I did not ask for ginger in my food. So that was very disappointing because I would get a piece of chicken that tasted fine but then randomly I could get one that tasted like ginger. The menu does not state that it was going to have ginger. It said it would be made in chili-garlic soy sauce. It wasn’t even spicy. I asked for noddles and ended up getting charged $3 dollars and no one could tell me why. My roommate that had room temp food said her portion was also really small and the food tasted nothing like curry. My other roommate got fried rice and she had no complaints. The cooks also had really loud music playing that was louder than the music playing inside the restaurant. The food used to be good about 2 years ago but apparently a lot has changed between that time. I will never return to this...
Read moreLet me start by saying I (and that includes my wife, kids and close friends) have been Chopsticks customers for almost 20 years. While the food quality has been consistent it seems to me that the service and attitude of many of the staff has taken a wrong turn. It has gone from being friendly and local to " I don't really care if I give good service at all...its just a job" mentality. Example: Tonight stopped by to place a to go order. Normally I would then sit at the sushi bar and have a couple of plates of sushi and a beer while I waited. Good right!? Evidently ownership is making so much money that the sushi bar staff can talk to their coworkers and pretend you don't exist till.you wander away. I eventually ordered ordered beer from the cashier and sat in the "lobby" while I waited for my to go order. Nice eh!? When I tried to explain it to the cashier she just shrugged. A month or so ago I found Wang's in Southlake. Distance and time wise for me it is about the same. I think the food is better and at least their staff pretends that the customer is important. Sorry to see Chopsticks fall off like they have. There is 1 guy at Chopsticks who I have to say is there every time I go and is always friendly and helpful...didn't get his name but long hair and tats and is normally working take out and cashier station. He may be the only employee worth keeping. BTW the 3 stars is 4 stars for food and 0 stars for the customer experience I...
