It's so nice to see this concept in Denton! Tried two different bingsu, mango and red bean, and both were so creamy and delicious, and also very large! Definitely a sharing portion for most people. The bulgogi kimbap was a bit disappointing -- while the bulgogi itself tasted good, that's literally all that was in there apart from lettuce (??), which resulted in a dry kimbap that wasn't super pleasant to eat in terms of texture. It would have benefited at least from some carrots, cucumber, and/or danmuji. The store was well stocked, the employees very friendly, and the self select menu machines easy to operate.
I think they'd benefit from having some large screens that play Korean convenience store ice cup or 야식 videos, so those who are totally unfamiliar with the concept can get an idea, or maybe also film a video of preparing ramen there using their water dispensers and such :) If it's possible to add some other options like sausages and pickles and cheese later on, especially a bit of kimchi or danmuji, that would be good, along with some 김packets. Also, I suggest they add some ice cups, or something similar to get the similar effect like just providing empty cups and an ice machine and straws, and maybe also stock some pouch drinks with flavor combo example ideas -- maybe could have a board where people can vote on their favorite flavor combos, or rank the weekly winning combos, for some engagement :)
I'll definitely be back! I hope the concept gets more people as winter comes and students might be craving spicy noodles and soup during colder months. Good...
Read moreWe were counting the minutes until they opened. Ramyun Story is finally here! Staff is super friendly, it was clean, and they are OPEN AT 8am! We had late breakfast around 10am. Enjoyed listening to Kpop, the vast choice of ramyun types, and the various add-ons they have. Hard boiled eggs, fish cake, rice cakes, bulgogi, green onion, spam, and so much more.
There are kiosks you can order from or you can go to the front register. We used the kiosks which was good because we were so indecisive. Lol Staff told us what buttons to push on the ramen cooking machines, and we put our extra ingredients in at the 1min30 sec mark as instructed. Everything came out perfect!
Canned and Korean boxed drinks like Melon, Banana, and Strawberry milk are sold separately, and delicious! They also have Croc-shaped taiyaki (stuffed waffle-type desserts). They are so CUTE and stuffed full of goodness. You definitely get your money's worth with those. 😊
Restrooms and the path to get to them are disabled-friendly and clean.
We will, 100%, be back. My daughter lives nearby so she'll have to put up with my excuses to come visit...and eat...
Read moreThis place is good. It definitely is a different type of experience compared to a normal restaurant. Pretty much you pick your ramen and decide what you want on it and then you get to make it yourself. They have a broad selection from multiple ramyuns to pick from along with different drinks and desserts. They have this really cute dessert that’s stuffed pancake in the form of a croc and it is so good, it’s just the right sweetness without it...
