I have never had the misfortune of experiencing an unhelpful doctors appointment the way I have here. That is not to say that all the staff is like this. Some of them are actually pleasant and have made a couple experiences that I have had there, worth it. That being said when your physician blames negative side affects from a new birth control on your bad genetics and depression, I donāt get how they could expect this kind of behavior from someone who works there to turn out well.
If you have to go here because you are a broke college student but need to go to the doctor, take this friendly piece of advice: never get an appointment with Nurse Practitioner Davis. She does not listen to any of the patients that she has gotten and I have never heard a single good review from anyone that I know that has seen her either. She comes in with a predetermined notion about what could be wrong with you and if you try to have her see that that is probably not the case, she does not listen. She continues to create excuses for why she is right.
The very first time I had the misfortune of receiving her for a doctorās appointment i was feeling ill very ill and they had an appointment available for that day with her as the physician. I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours (i had arrived on time) and the nurse kept telling me she had to go take care of something and that she would be right back. After those 2 hours, I was allowed into a room where I waited for 3 hours with nurses saying it shouldnāt be much longer every few minutes. Finally arrived after the 5 hour wait, said she was busy, and then spent all of 10 minutes with me before telling me it was allergies. I tried convincing her that that is not the case because my allergies had never been like that but she did not listen and sent me away. My friend, being pissed about how that doctor treated me, took me to a different doctor where they ran a flu test and determined I had the flu.
And as previously mentioned, I had received a new birth control from the health and wellness center and the doctor that prescribed it said that if I experienced any negative side effects towards the end of the month to come in. I helpful doctor I had seen was out of town so I had to schedule an appointment with Ms. Davis. She came in, heard what was wrong abd about how everything i was experiencing was awful, painful, and completely out of the ordinary for me and for anyone in the history of my family. She told me that itās my genetics and probably my depression causing the problems. She is unhelpful and doesnāt listen.
And it may not seem fair for me to rate the entirety of this establishment based off of one particularly bad physician but 1. She not the only bad one, but she is the worse Iāve encountered and 2. Your businessās reputation is determined by the people you choose to represent it, and apparently they feel that this physician is up to standards even enough to have her as one of the pictures representing them on google.
TL;DR - Donāt go here and if you have to, donāt ever schedule an appointment with nurse...

Last year, I was vomiting for 4 days, dehydrated, and the doctors could not tell me whatās the cause of my problem. All they could give me was anti-nauseating medication, which did not help. I had to find help and relief on my own.
The health insurance policy is a SCAM. After paying over $1000 of Insurance with United Healthcare Student Resource, the student STILL have to pay $500 out of pocket before the insurance is in effect. Of course, this applies to hospitals out of campus. But hereās the thing, the UNT hospital has terrible treatments and extremely limited healthcare options that I had to seek outside resources. They put you in a dilemma where paying more and more is your only option.
They would not let you cancel the insurance unless you find a different plan to replace this one ā and it has to meet all the requirements given out by UNT. The window for changing insurance is very narrow, and most people wouldnāt even think to do so before the time has passed.
Despite the nice front desk services, this place does not care about you. I regret everyday to choose UNT ā and yes, trying to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe wait each time to see a doctor is insanely long .. I got up to leave my room to check after a good 40 min of waiting for a nurse to give me a birth control consultation ( another time it was 50 min to wait for a male doctor to give me antibiotics) anyhow, when the nurse comes in she immediately scorns me for not using protection with my boyfriend which is MY CHOICE and rudely asks me,ā are you trying to get pregnant?ā This is outrageous if this is how healthcare in college is ... nonetheless, in The state of Texas? You people just want to make a young woman feel bad like this?? Unacceptable. The nurse also was āvisitingā and is from some other hospital. I told one of the nurses that I have grown to like. She was understanding and said that was not ok to say to a patient. Lol also itās ironic Bc I was coming FOR the implant, which would give me protection ... so yeah lady mind your...
