My wife, our friends, and I decided to have dinner at Rooster's Roadhouse on a Saturday night. While there were some positive aspects to our dining experience, there were also several downsides that left us feeling disappointed.
Let's start with the positives. I ordered the King Brisket Burger, and it was certainly a highlight. The size of the burger was impressive, large enough to be shared by two people. The generous portion of meat made it satisfyingly tasty. The Rooster Tails, accompanied by a great sauce, were also enjoyable.
We were fortunate to have a waitress named Sarah, who was exceptional. She was friendly, polite, and had a great sense of humor. Sarah's excellent customer service skills made us feel welcomed and attended to.
However, there were a few significant negatives that impacted our overall experience. First, my wife's double shot margarita tasted like water, with no trace of alcohol. When we asked for the drink menu, Sarah informed us that it was all in her head. This made us feel uncomfortable, as we were unable to make informed decisions about the prices and available options. It would have been much better to have a physical drink menu provided to avoid confusion and limited choices.
Additionally, my wife's regular Brisket burger was disappointingly small and poorly made, especially considering its price of $12.44. The portion size did not match the price, leaving us feeling overcharged. Furthermore, the Pulled Pork Nacho appetizer was served with our main dishes instead of being brought out earlier as an appetizer should be. The portion size of the nachos was shockingly small, consisting of only a handful of chips with limited cheese and meat. At a price of $12.95, it felt like a straight rip-off and did not provide value for money.
Furthermore, we were shocked to find an unexpected upcharge on our bill. We had been offered the option to swap out the potato chips for the rooster tails, but at no point were we informed that there would be an additional charge of $2.99 for this substitution. This lack of disclosure was disappointing and left a negative impression.
We believe that customers should demand a drink menu, and it is the responsibility of the business to provide one to avoid overcharging and ensure transparency. Additionally, it is important to note that some menu items at Rooster's Roadhouse are grossly overpriced, so it is advisable to proceed with caution when dining there.
While there were positive aspects such as the King Brisket Burger and the attentive service provided by Sarah, the overall experience at Rooster's Roadhouse fell short of our expectations. The lack of a drink menu, the overpriced items, and the underwhelming portion sizes, and the undisclosed upcharge for the rooster tails were significant letdowns. We hope that the restaurant addresses these issues to improve transparency and enhance the overall...
Read moreMy wife and I were in the mood for something new. We had heard about Roosters from our friends so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! It was a busy Friday night and it was good to see so many people here. We were given the option for outdoor seating which was the quicker choice to get a table. It was comfortable outside and we didn't have to wait long at all for service. Our waitress was fabulous! The menu loaded with all kinds unique selections. Though this place is known for BBQ, it's burgers are also a highlight. We ordered their bacon cheese fries for an appetizer which didn't disappoint. Crispy fries with plenty of cheese and bacon with fresh sliced jalapenos and green onions. Very tasty! We decided to go with burgers. My wife selected their Roasted Garlic Jalapeno Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of fried okra and I selected their Brisket Burger with a side of fried jalapeno rings. Neither selection was a disappointment! Wow!!! Talk about a mountain of flavor! We sampled each other's burgers and it was very enjoyable. The RGJB burger had a lot to savor and the patty was nice and juicy. Not too spicy either. The fried okra was delicious without being overcooked. Tender yet still crisp inside. The Brisket Burger was a mouthful! A generous amount of sliced brisket on top of a patty with pico and a chipotle sauce along with BBQ sauce. Flavor oozed everywhere! It came with a very generous amount of fried jalapeno rings with ranch dressing to dip into. They were AWESOME! Not too spicy and a nice change from fries which we had consumed earlier. The buns on both burgers were impressively soft yet held up to holding the contents of our selections. Our waitress was so awesome and she kept up with taking care of us even though they were busy. We were definitely impressed with our first visit here and look forward to returning.
FYI: I am not compensated in any way by this business and I gladly pay for any food/services. I'm sharing my opinion freely and hope you will have a good experience with...
Read moreI decided on having a day trip in Denton to explore the local antique stores and flea markets. As always I search for a local restraunts to stop for a meal too, and in this case found Roosters Roadhouse with a high Google star rating. So I put it on the list for our lunch stop. As someone that enjoys good BBQ I was really looking forward to the meal. We had three plates. Two burger plates and one brisket plate. The brisket was absolutley rubbish and deserved to be placed in the rubbish bin. It was plainly obvious to be reheated microwave BBQ. Very dry, no profile of bark, no flavor beef. Kind of like chewing on semi processed beef jerky. The sauce provided tasted like tomatoes base with vinegar. In fact it left an unpleasant acidic sting on my tongue when I ate it. The side dish was black beans and rice that were on the underdone side but did have a nice flavor. Probably made in large qty and served accordingly. My two dining companions expressed that the burgers were done well but nothing to write home about. Each of them had a side of kettle style chips which I did try. They were nice meaty kettle chips but I believe the grease was a little old due to the heaviness they left in your mouth after eating one. Possibly the grease was not hot enough when the potatoes was put in. Not sure on that. The weight staff was friendly although very absent. We saw our waitress once when the food was served and only again at the end of our dinning when she brought the check. The place was busy on this Saturday afternoon so they could have been stretched thin on staff. Overall it was unenjoyable and I would not recommend going their unless your a college kid and you dont care after a few beers what you are throwing...
