I can't believe I have not been in Steve's Wine Bar before in downtown Denton! My niece graduated from North Texas (4 year degree in 2!) and we had her graduation party there last week. What an adorable place! They had the back room reserved for the party, the room was colorful and had nice artwork and seating options. Perhaps it got a bit cramped with as many people who came to the party, but that was ok, still cozy. They have a really nice patio with string lights and had the interior decorated nicely for the holidays. The wine selection in the front room was good, they had a variety of options available at different price points. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. The band that played that night was really good, I wish I had more time to sit and enjoy the environment, will def be back in the future! Great experience, I highly recommend!

Someday, people will talk about Steve's Bar and the musicians that played there back in the day, and they will shake their heads. They will talk about the fact that Jeffry Eckels, a phenomenal bassist in his own right, drew into regular rotation the likes of Brad Leali, Stefan Karlsson, Carlos Averhoff, Jr. (and so many others) and that they brought some of the best jazz to be had anywhere to a small group of fortunate and deeply appreciative listeners in a small but cozy wine bar. Someday, people will say to one another, "damn, what I wouldn't give to have been around for that set --- can you even imagine...." As for myself, I am just grateful for the opportunity to watch and listen to these guys as they weave together something new with each piece, and that I can do so with a glass of something civilized in hand. This is simply perfect.

I am like a kid in a candy store here! Owners and staff are simply the nicest in town. Steve and Karen have a true gem here. Heather is my favorite server. Cheryl is the best kept secret somm in DFW. Even my daughter likes to go and she is just developing her wine palate. She is not intimidated which is unusual in wine bars. They will help you pick the perfect wine. My husband enjoys all the beer options. The music is always great. And the group wine tastings are always top notch. The wine club is an amazing value. They even host dinners with wine pairings and host trips to different wine regions across the world. All while supporting everything local. Clearly deserving Small Business of the Year award for 2025.

Very relaxed atmosphere in which resides a knowledgeable, kind, and attentive staff with a superb selection of wine. I cannot recommend this location enough for anyone looking for a casual venue in which to explore a variety of wines. Additionally, this business is named "Steve's Wine Bar" for a reason. Steven, the owner, was present during my visit and it was apparent that he is passionate about both wine and his clientele. It was my first time visiting, and although he had plenty of apparent regulars vying for his attention, he still spent time speaking with me and even recommended and poured a tasting of wine for me. I cannot recommend this place enough. As a young man, I find that most wine bars in the Dallas area are either pompous or not accomadating based on misconceived preconceptions of what I represent as a potential client. You will not find that here.As a plus, the live music is also great and adds to...

My fiancé and I went here last night, we were very excited after seeing the great reviews. We walked in and straight off there was no where to sit down, so we had to sit outside. One of the things I was excited for was to experience the atmosphere of this place, so having to sit outside was kind of a let down. Still, I was excited to give it a try. Karen was lovely and very knowledgeable about the wines, but after our first initial tasting she disappeared inside and we didn't see her for ten minutes. We had expressed our interest in buying a bottle, so I was getting a little bit annoyed with the lack of service. We saw her inside talking and laughing with other customers but she never came back outside to take our order. We decided to leave. We felt like we were being put out, like we were intruding on a group of regulars. I wish them all the best but it's safe to say I will not...
