I had high hopes for this place, but my experience was disappointing. Despite reading previous reviews, I decided to give it a try and noticed it wasn’t busy on a Friday at 6 PM. The food was super bland and lacked flavor, suggesting that the previous reviews did have some truth. While the service was decent, the meal didn’t justify the $80 spent. I’ve seen responses to past reviews that defend the food, but I hope you take customer feedback seriously and make some changes. On a positive note, the patio is lovely, and everyone was friendly as we left. This place has a lot of potential and was once a busy spot; I’m not sure what has changed. Maybe there’s been a shift in ownership or management.

:::::Edit:::: . I ordered the chili rellenos, and I was surprised to find that it seemed to be made from canned chilis. Considering your restaurant’s focus on Tex-Mex cuisine, I expected a fresher, more authentic preparation. The difference between fresh and canned chili is quite noticeable.

My husband had the steak quesadilla. It appeared to be a tortilla with shredded cheese that was microwaved, and the steak also tasted microwaved and lacked seasoning. It reminded me of a quick meal I’d make at home for my son, not something I'd expect from a restaurant.

Both dishes are staples in Mexican cuisine. These both were fails. Let's be honest labor day weekend has nothing to do with why it...

Large restaurant, very accommodating to a large crowd of 15 on a Sunday evening. Kid/family friendly. Clean, comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Menu seemed varied, not too large. I ordered a chicharron burrito and lemonade. Lemonade was refreshing and flavorful but a bit on the sweet side. I did not care for the burrito. It was too salty and the chicharron was overcooked. It was a very large portion, and did not look very appetizing. Others in my party really enjoyed their meals however. Our server was very pleasant and professional she was also very apt at serving large crowds. I have been here several times in the past and the food and service have always been good so I will be back. Next time I will inform the staff if my food is not to my liking and give them the opportunity to make it better. This restaurant is a well established venue and is worth trying again. On another note the restaurant provides non plastic straws and recyclable food containers for takeout. They are dog friendly and have a special doggy area on their patio. Wheelchair accessible and parking. Free...

I'm truly flabbergasted that this place is able to keep its doors open. It was absolutely the worst Mexican food I've ever had and the green chili has a weird off taste that I've never experienced before. Terrible ingredients cooked terribly.

One of our relatives opted out of dinner when they found out this was the chosen spot and I really wish I had followed suit.

Ordered the breakfast burrito for $19 only for the waitress to prompt if I wanted to add the only meat option (chorizo) for $2 additional. Absolutely disgusting. Eggs totally overdone, the chorizo had almost no taste except adding an unappetizing oil slick to the already awful burrito.

It seriously hurts my heart that this place is open and serving food when there are so many amazing places in Denver. Please go support anyone else that serves even moderately decent food and let this place die into oblivion.

Maybe the worst meal of my life. I ate like 4 bites and was also disgusted by the other meals served to our table....

The Host staff were welcoming, the ToGo staff was awesome. I decided to order a piña colada while I waited for my food to be done. The bartender (brunette female) was absolutely not pleasant. My drink is a frozen drink yet she gave me the tiniest straw. She rushed me to pay immediately telling me twice with in 3 minutes as if I wasn’t going to while I waited for my food. I asked for a larger straw since they do not offer for to go drinks with alcohol because I no longer wanted to hear her slamming cabinets and bottle in the trash in front of me. Side act as if she was bothered and was intentionally trying to get me to leave. Well if she made the drink I ordered right I would’ve been finished and we both would be satisfied. I haven’t ate the food yet so I hope the little agitation was worth it!!! Won’t be returning to enjoy a drink, that I know for sure!!!

I have tried multiple times to like the Blue Bonnet restaurant, but just cannot seem to get what other people love about this place. The mole tasted like it was from a box you can buy in the grocery store, lacking flavor and complexity as one would expect from well made mole. Beans were fairly pedestrian and the rice was flavorless. The chicken and the enchiladas I ordered was dry, stringy, and chewy. I cannot argue that this is a very popular restaurant with some massively dedicated fans that I don't want to anger. It just seems that I have a different standard or experience with authentic Mexican food that disagrees with what they serve here. I will definitely be back as part of a group a passionate Blue Bonnet lovers, but I'm not likely to go back on my own accord. LOL...Mole IS a more interesting dish when executed properly. :-(

The service was exceptional! Our waitress was checking in on us frequently. The door greeter was not, walking in he didn't say hello, smile, welcome or anything. He grabbed two menus turned and waved for us to follow him. Placed the menus on the table and walked away. Normally they'll ask "is this table okay? (Name) will be your server tonight. Enjoy your meal." It was quiet in the restaurant and comfortable to eat in. The food quality has diminished over the past year and a half. The ground beef was very salty, the green chili wasn't flavorful at all. The portion size is excellent for the price you pay. Hopefully someone else can visit and review, I'd like to see your opinion.
