So funny they’re saying we were rude, disruptive and insulting (blatant lies, btw) when they were the ones that cussed us out because we said we didn’t like the cake and they can’t take criticism. Lol. Good luck with that attitude!
You can see in the responses to other reviews that the owner has no professionalism and is incapable of taking responsibility for their mistakes. I came here to add that I used to be a frequent customer because their small pastries are delicious. That was until I placed an order for a cake and it was nothing like I expected. It was bland, with a sand-like texture, and the frosting got stuck to the box so badly that the cake just started falling apart in spite of my careful efforts to get it out of the box. It really seems like they used marshmallow cream instead of a proper frosting. Not to mention, their stuff is ridiculously overpriced. To top it all off, when we called to express our dissatisfaction, the person who answered the phone barely let us get a single word in, was disgustingly rude and defensive, and even cussed us out in the end. They will of course try to deny this, but I have no reason to lie. Stay away from these people if you care at all about your money and dignity....

The exterior was beautiful but the cake was not cooked, edges were burnt, frosting was awful and there was hair in it. We were unable to even eat it for my birthday. My Aunt had to leave to go buy a cake from Whole Foods and we all had to wait. $90.00 down the drain. In response to the owner: I’m sorry you disagree with the review. Yes, the time crunch was on my mom and I since there was a miscommunication. However, you should have declined the order if you didn’t feel you had time to bake a quality cake. You had said you had everything to bake the cake and I knew the cake may not be like the other bakeries we go to. However, it was a hair in the cake and it was underbaked. Also, my mom did ask one of your employees if you use organic ingredients and they said no, that was the people before 🤷🏻♀️. Read moreHad such a bad experience, tried to place an order on line, not user friendly as you can not be specific, Optioned are limited, so I called in I was to write email to them and a quote would be emailed back to me, never received any email, so I decided fine I will use one of their set combinations and place order online, well before the 7 day notice they require according to their website( also nowhere on website does it stated that orders are not always guaranteed) so in get a text telling me that they saw my order online, and since I never replied to email that again I never received. My order was being canceled and they would have owner issue me a refund. And there was Nothing they could do, luckily I found a place that does respect time frames posted on their website and I was able to place my order with someone else. My family and I have been getting cakes from Azúcar for about 10 years know, the owner is great. It’s unfortunate that they can not honor timeframes as they have posted online.
