Dennys should watch who they have handling their parking lot for "event parking". Unless they were closed and didn't want business from the concert last night and I was unaware. I'm mortified by the way the parking people(woman) treated us last night. I had a car full of children let's start there, one of whom is disabled and was sitting passenger. In Denver we had Taylor Swift last night which is close to this area.I was going to this Dennys location to meet/pick up my friend last night as she worked the ticket booth of the concert and got off at 830 and thought it would be easier to meet there instead of by the show. Now I understand there was probably lots of shady things going on but the fact that I was not there for any reason but to eat and got treated how I did is why Dennys I guess doesn't want business of probably the busiest night known to man or maybe they were closed I never got that far to find out pretty sure they weren't though since my friend was inside. I pulled lnto the lot thinking my friend was there for us to EAT. I did not notice the event parking sign as it was about 840pm. I did see a woman at the back with a yellow jacket and figured the front half was for customers and it registered there was possibly something going on but no one explained that either I was not 100% sure but tried to use my thinking skills. I was sitting in the front part where you park for to go orders when the woman working your parking lot approached my car with her cigarette and immeditate attitude and chip on her shoulder. She just stood at my passenger side window staring at me, not saying anything, then said, "So what is it you think you are doing here?" I let her know I was waiting for my friend. She stood there. I said sorry I didn't realize there was also event parking here,I'm just waiting for my friend and then she said ok, but you are parked though even though mind you my car never went into the park position. I said well I'm waiting for someone I'm frantically trying to call my friend at this point to see if she can come outside. The middle aged woman with long Grey and white hair just stood there at the window it was very uncomfrotable. When I got off the phone she again asked what i was doing i said again I had no idea this was event parking. She then again said yeah well your parked aren't ya. I did not look over at her again as my friend was coming out from Dennys you know the place I was supposed to Eat at. She then proceeded with a car full of children and a disabled child in front scream into my car ok then you stupid F#$&Ing B@t#%. At that point I was so scared of her actions and just standing there at my window then screaming that into my car for essentially nothing I was trying to back out of the space to just tell my friend to go down the street and she stood behind my car taking pictures then screaming obscenities at meclaiming I had an attitude when I came in. I did get out at this point and say i wasnt doing anything and this was all super uneccassairy She could have explained a fraction of something but i still have no idea what the parking lot situation was because she came over immediately rude smoking her cigarette in my car. This was absolutely uncalled for and there was no reason for this "woman" to do that or blowing her nasty cigarettes into my car. I'll never go to this Dennys again on simple principles. Sad this was the type of people you had working your parking lot. It legitimately scares me this woman took a picture of my plate considering how she acted I have no idea what her plan is or to pretend I parked there without paying. Hard to say when someone has the audacity to act that way what they...
Read moreI used Denny's to cater brunch for a party. It was awesome and everyone loved it. What happened while picking up my food helped reaffirm my faith in humanity.
Yes. I know. I just wrote those words about Denny's - it's not a mistake.
You might not think about Denny's to cater a party. If not - think about it. The grand slam pack is great. The french toast is amazing. Plate it yourself and watch the compliments roll in - even from people who don't think they want to eat at Denny's.
In addition to the food - let me tell a quick heartwarming story that happened while picking up my order.
A kind-looking old man walked slowly and laboriously up to the register, getting ready to pay. He was by himself and didn't have a wallet - just a credit card which he later explained was from his family so he could pay. The host swiped the card a couple times and discretely tried another machine to ensure the issue was not with the machine.
The host quietly brought over the manager who informed the man that the card didn't work and they were sure the issue was not on their side. You could see in the man's face he was worried and not sure what to do. He had no other card and he had already eaten. He might have been in before - but it didn't appear they knew him like a regular.
I started to expect this would become a scene and take a while. Would they tell him to call his family? Make him promise to pay next time? Put him to work in the back washing dishes? . . . Do I have some cash? Should I help him out?
Before I could think further - the manager responded quickly with kindness: "Don't worry about it - we've got you. We'll take care of it"
Incredulous - he responded: "You mean it's free? I don't have to pay?" and the manager responded. "Yes - we know you - it's on us. Don't worry about it.".
No hemming and hawing. No questioning or demands. No refusing to do the right thing because of some corporate policy. Just a manager - who knows the difference between an honest mistake and someone taking advantage of her - doing the right thing and treating people with dignity, kindness and respect. She made the world just a little bit better by doing the right thing.

Read moreI order from this location a lot because there aren’t too many other options. I always order the same exact thing. Glam Slam with 4pc bacon, hard scrambled eggs, and extra crispy hash browns. Im always polite and tip even though they’ve messed my order on multiple occasions. Last night was the absolute worst experience. I made sure to confirm my order 3 times over the phone. When I got there to pick it up I was so tired I just paid thanked them and left. When I got home I opened it the hash browns were soaking in oil and one of the pieces of bacon were undercooked. I drove back and took it to the Host who looked me in the eye and giggled as I literally squeezed the oil out of the hash browns. I told him that the 1 bacon was still raw and could potentially make someone very ill or worse. He just kept looking at me like it was a joke. He told me they would remake it and walked away. It took so long I fell asleep waiting at a booth. When I finally get my food the bacon is completely burnt and the hash browns were still mushy. It was obvious the “chef” took offense by my original complaint. I made myself eat the bacon because I hadn’t eaten all day and had already been there for so long. It’s a shame that Dennys treats their loyal customers like crap.
Edit: after reading the polite review from the director I am in a self battle. Part of me wants to just never come back and the other part is saying to at least give them the chance to fix it. Well I tried. Today I called 3 times. The phone disconnected 2x and when I did get ahold of someone it was the host who transferred me back to the same disconnected line (even after I told him it was disconnected). I would have loved to let you guys fix the issue and rewrite my review to reflect your efforts, now it seems it’s for the best. If you’re going to go eat at Dennys just don’t go to...
