I love this library. It's a few minutes from home, it's clean, the staff are always courteous and helpful, and it's a reasonably quiet place to work. As in many cities in the United States, libraries in Denver (like this one) have become de facto service centers for the homeless and for the poor, which is neither the fault of the libraries nor an indictment of vulnerable, but rather a failing of our larger social systems. This doesn't detract from libraries' value at all, and the Gonzales Branch is no exception—I do much of my research from here, when I don't go to the Central Brach, and get my books delivered here. I had to leave my dog for a second outside while I checked out my book quickly with the self checkout, the staff kept glaring at me and I was unconformable. Everytime I go to this libary they are always staring at me as if I'm going to do something horrendous, I don't know if it has something to do with the way I dress or the fact I'm a tanned person. I don't think I'll be coming back agian I never have good...
Read moreThis was my home library for years, and it is truly one of the greatest resources for anyone in the Denver/lakewood area. This library not only provides free and necessary resources like printing, internet access, and resource advocacy… but they also provide enriching spaces like their full music studio and ideaLAB (which has 3D printing). The staff here are always so patient and willing to help and I cannot express enough how much this library has helped me over the last 5 years.
(The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because the parking situation is completely atrocious, but that’s not really their fault… thank gentrification and the city of...
