My wife and I went here last night, Sat, Aug 26th. We probably should have stayed at the bar seating because we got recommendations from the one female bartender that worked out well. But I'll focus on my drinks for this experience. First drink I tried with the recommendation from the bartender when I wanted something with Bourbon, was something called the Toronto and wasn't on the menu. Well, that was a very good tasting drink, similar to an old fashioned. We then moved to an outside seating area, and I tried something different. What had the hopes to be a good martini style of drink from their menu tasted like bandaids, so needless to say, it was horrible and didn't finish it. They didn't charge me for it so I decided to go back to the Toronto drink. The young waitress that helped with that was nice and I thought she would have understood what I was asking for, for another Toronto cocktail that the female bartender made for me. It turns out the waitress misunderstood as what I received turned out to be something called the Negroni. So I decided to walk to the bar and got the female bartender's attention and let her know that it wasn't the same drink as I got the first time. She seemed to know right away that what I got was indeed not what I wanted and offered to make a Toronto. I declined as I didn't want to have another drink thrown away. Today I look at my detailed transactions and I was charged for the Negroni, which was correct, but I was also charged for 2 Bourbon related drinks listed as Elijah Craig, which I only received one of in the form of the Toronto. It's upsetting that this happened and with that experience, and with very limited seating options when it gets crowded, we'll most likely not...
Read moreI recently visited Desert Social bar in Denver and it was an experience that surpassed all my expectations. This place is a true oasis in the city, offering a unique and sophisticated atmosphere that captivates you the moment you step inside. The Southwest-inspired decor creates a warm, welcoming, and incredibly photogenic setting.
The cocktail selection is the star of the show here. Their take on the classic espresso martini is nothing short of perfection, and the Blonde Negroni with prickly pear and orange-blossom gin is a must-try. Each drink is crafted with precision and is a delight to the senses.
Despite its chic ambiance and high-quality drinks, the prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other cocktail bars in the area. It’s refreshing to find a place that offers such quality without breaking the bank.
Desert Social is a standout establishment in Denver. It’s not just a bar; it’s a destination. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable night out. I am already looking forward to...
Read moreThis bar provided the worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. If you don’t have friends here, don’t waste your time because you’re not worth it to them. Aesthetically, it’s nice, and that’s as much as you’ll get.
Walked in when it was not busy and approached the bar. First bartender makes eye contact, immediately looks away and ignores us. Second bartender sees me wave to him and waves back, to continue his conversation with the staff. Third staff member looks over when I said “we’d like to order drinks!”, begrudgingly took our order, wrote it down to hand to the first bartender and said “you can go and find a seat now….” I watched to tables near us. The first was ignored for over 15 minutes until one person stood up, walked around the bar and had to bring over the server himself. The second was friends with the servers, got served immediately, took shots with the server and then ate food from another restaurant! Shocking!! Did I mention the drinks are...
