I’ve seen this shop several times and looked it up on Google. Visited their website and noticed they have an unsweetened hot cocoa on their menu. Dutch chocolate is very well known across the world, so I figured it would be worth a try. I also like to test “the basics” of a locale, it really tells you a lot about the passion and effort a business places on their service. I visited the shop during lunch to buy the hot cocoa and the small place was dead empty (red flag) I waited for 5-10 min looking around the Dutch items while tapping my foot to Orchestra Baobab playing in the background (they are an African music group with Cuban influence...yeah go figure). Anyway, finally someone helped me, they make the hot cocoa on the spot which was nice. But to my horror, my hot cocoa was comprised of 2/3 water, 1/3 milk, and boxed powder cocoa all heated in the microwave. Once the minute of the microwave was up, a few quick stirs and the server handed me the open cardboard cup with no lid. It was unsweetened cocoa but...what an embarrassment! $3.50 for microwave heated cup of powered chocolate! They would shoot you in Holland if you serve that there! Where are the standards? I know it’s just hot cocoa, but the cultural passion needs to be there just as much as anything else! ...Ok, venting is done. I’m willing to give the place another try...maybe it was an off day, maybe I can try a sandwich that are very recommended but I would like to plead for more effort and passion, I’ve never been and not sure if I’ll ever go to Holland but if I can experience it here in Denver, what a delight...

I absolutely love Double Dutch, a Dutch store in my neighborhood. The woman who works there always makes me feel so welcomed and is incredibly helpful. She has a great knowledge of the products they carry and is always happy to answer any questions I have.

One of the things I love most about Double Dutch is their amazing selection of cheese. They have a fantastic variety of Dutch cheeses. I always leave with a new cheese to try and I've never been disappointed.

In addition to their great cheese selection, Double Dutch also has a fantastic selection of authentic Dutch products. They have everything from Dutch cookies and candies to traditional Dutch gifts and souvenirs. I always find something new and interesting every time I visit.

Overall, I would highly recommend Double Dutch to anyone looking for a great selection of Dutch products. The staff is incredibly friendly and the products...

I saw an ad for this place and thought "4.8 stars, they can't be THAT good." Well they're not, they're better. I went on a Monday, then went back every day that week to try a different sandwich. Each one is different, and amazing. I want to try the whole menu. They have a great vegetarian selection as well, including "Denver's best sandwich" The Amsterdam, which was the first one I had.

To describe the sandwiches... Let us start with the bread. I found out that the bread is baked by a local French baker who makes it for her every day. The cheese they use is not kraft singles, or slices of cheese. It is fresh from the wheel, cut individually per sandwich. On top of that, almost every sandwich comes with some fresh basil in between.

I cannot get enough...

This is a great little find! Sweet and simple sandwich/lunch place serving Netherland-inspired comfort food and drinks. Plus they have a whole wall of grocery/type shelves filled with Dutch imported goodies! Currently Fully stocked with holiday favorites like chocolate letters :). Brings me back to my great-grandparents handing out the special dutch treats at Christmastime. What a cute little spot Dubbel Dutch is, plus the owner is really nice and was willing to chat for a bit :). She gets all of her goodies directly from the Netherlands. I recommend this Authentic little spot and I’m happy to have come across it!

What a wonderful and unexpected “find” for us as we drove through Denver on the way skiing (and then back again today). We felt like we were back in NL (erg gezellig sfeer een lekker eten)! On the way out, we loaded up on some Dutch treats and today, ate our fill in traditional Dutch sandwiches. Eef was an amazing owner and treated us like old friends! I even left with a couple of Dutch language novels and a bag of stroopwafels. Het was zo erg leuk and we were sad to leave for our flight. Dank je wel, Eef!!!
