I very rarely give 5 stars to a place, as there is always room for improvement. While the ambiance is hole-in-the-wall, it is clean, tidy and comfortable. The review is for the food, however, not the physical place itself. First, the menu is Vietnamese--no Kung Pao Chicken, Pot stickers or Pad thai here. It's Pho, Bun, Com ga and, to my surprise, Banh xeo. My wife and I shared spring rolls, Banh xeo and a pork Bun. Fresh, crisp lettuce and loads of mint for the crispy and savory crepe-like banh xeo. Coming from the Twin Cities, the home of the largest Hmong population outside of Asia, plus loads of Vietnamese, Karen, Lao and Thai folks; and having travelled independently in Vietnam and other SE Asian countries, I am familiar with the menus, ingredients, preparation and presentation of authentic, in-country dishes found throughout SEA. The great thing about Denver is that this is just ONE of the many fantastic Vietnamese places in the city. Every time I'm down from Fort Collins (which has a very provincial restaurant scene) I try a new Vietnamese place. Keep trying new places, you will be glad (as I was)...
Read moreFor starters, i was greeted right when I came into the resturant in a friendly manner. The host brought me to my table and helped with me decision on what to eat as it was my first time there. She recommended the Pho combination which I believe was the #12 and along with spring rolls which had Pork and Shrimp in them!
The spring rolls came with peanut sauce like no other! Made the authentic way. The taste of their peanut sauce is very unique compared to other places.
The pho was terrific! When i go and eat out I usually need to drench my pho with lots of hoison sauce to get some flavor that I want. However their pho before i add anything to it I taste it to make sure what it needs. The pho was delicious on its own! Very beefy flavored and not so plain. I didn't even need to add much to my pho to make it good. It was delicious naturally. If anything I added a pinch of Hoison sauce and siracha for some spice and some lime as well for I like my pho with a bit of a sour taste to it.
Overrall loved the resturant! Definetly my to go to when i am craving Vietnamese food...
