Niko Garza's Eat Here is exactly the kind of hole-in-the-wall gem that reminds you why local food is worth the detour. Let's be real--the building's a hot mess, the street's chaotic, and the atmosphere is... let's call it "unpolished." But then you meet Niko, and none of that matters. He's the real deal: salty-mouthed, hardworking, down-to-earth, and full of heart. He told me how he learned the business working his family's hot dog cart at ten years old, and how he commuted by bus--an hour each way--to get Eat Here off the ground. This isn't an investor-funded concept kitchen--it's blood, sweat, and seasoned fries. I stopped in after the Denver Dog Fair, on my way back to Evergreen (45 minutes away), and was determined to avoid a drive-thru. I checked what was nearby, saw the fun five-star reviews, and couldn't resist trying Eat Here. Now I'm leaving a five-star review too. We tried the Blucifer Fries (genius name, killer flavor, and blue cheese), the Buff Chick & Fries, and the Philly... and everything was gobbled up once I got home. Even the regular fries stood out thanks to Niko's spiced salt. If he bottled it, I'd put it on everything--popcorn, eggs, pizza... maybe even an enemy. Don't come seeking sleek countertops and mood lighting. Come because Niko is pouring his soul into this place and his food. I just wish we lived closer--Eat Here would be a weekly staple. If Niko ever launches a GoFundMe to expand, I'll be first in line to donate. This guy deserves it. He's doing the work, and the food absolutely delivers. Please try this place--and then tell everyone you know...
Read moreOne thing that I've learned in this life is that no matter what you do, you are going to have people with an opposing viewpoint. That holds true with this bodega. If you break it down into very simple terms, you want a couple of things when you go out to eat. Good food - let's make sure we are on the same playing field, this is essentially a local bar and/or bodega food. The quality of the food that I had, was spot on! It was fresh and made right in front of me. I had the Joker Burger, added bacon, and had some of the Philly. Both really good. Burger was HUGE, I wish the Philly was a little bit bigger. Both 4.5 stars. The fries, seasoned and crispy, I couldn't ask for much more. The service - probably some of the best service I have had at a local eatery (or in the city of Denver for that matter). Outstanding service makes the food taste that much better! LOL I appreciate the welcoming environment Nico. The experience - how did you feel when you were there ordering your food, how did you feel when you were waiting, and how did you feel when you walked out of the building? It's a hole in the wall and as soon as I walked in, I knew it was going to be great!
Some of y'all take life too seriously. They are building a brand at Eat Here, it's good food, it's a cool experience, and I would be back in a heartbeat. Show some grace to small business owners, they are doing their best! And... the folks at Eat Here are knocking it out of the park!
Keep doing great work team... I...
Read moreVisiting a really great friend here in Aurora from Jacksonville, Florida. I love good food before I left I made sure to get my list together and this one was at the top of the list, the moment I saw that Philly cheesesteak I knew this was gonna be love. I got here early in the morning and they were only offering the breakfast currently so I grabbed the breakfast taco and the breakfast sandwich with bacon and sausage (I’m a meat loving women 🔥) With a bag of their tater tots, and when I tell you, this place did not disappoint!! The tater tots were fried to perfection. The taco had the right amount of spice and the double meat breakfast Sammy!! I didn’t leave a crum behind!!!! The owner also made a suggestion that I enjoy breakfast at Sloan lake Park (nice place with a beautiful view of the water) Now I’m just waiting around the area until I can go back grab that Philly cheesesteak for lunch and head...
