We had a fabulous experience! This is truly what shopping should feel like. We took the opportunity to visit the specialty shop on a weekday. It wasn’t very crowded and we were not hounded. Sash approached us and offered feedback with recommendations for my husband. He’s apprehensive about shopping for denim in general because he doesn’t have a “traditional” body type. Sash didn’t hesitate to recommend a pair of raw denim and have him start there. I thought it was odd Sash only offered one option but Sash stated this would be a good starting point. Needless to say Sash nailed it! He gained confidence in putting on that first pair of denim. Sash was knowledgeable beyond belief. Sash even helped him decide on the length of the alterations and to cuff or not cuff. Sash takes pride in their work. And the clothing and denim is solid. If you’re looking to invest in raw denim that will last you a lifetime this is the place. The prices reflect the quality and experience. To address other reviews that talk about not feeling comfortable in this store I would question whether the customer comes in with an open mind. You won’t find another customer service experience that is so down to Earth. I joked with Sash saying I actually audit customer service as my career and Sash was checking all the boxes. We can’t wait to come visit the store again. We hear Dayton, Ohio would be a fabulous opportunity...
Read moreWill not be going there ever again! The first experience I had shopping there a few months during Christmas time was fine and pretty typical but today was not a good experience at all. I was the only one in the entire store and was ignored while the person working there just sat behind the counter and barely looked up and when they did, she didn’t say a thing when she saw me. I browsed around and after about 5 minutes I found a shirt I was interested in possibly buying. This is exactly how the conversation went: Me: “Hi. I like this shirt but it doesn’t have a price tag. In fact, I noticed none of the shirts in the store are priced or at least I can’t seem to find it.” Employee: “Uh, yeah. The prices range.” Silence ensues. Me: “So… what’s the range?” Employee deep sighs, “Varies. Around $195 to $500.” Me: “Ok. How about this one?” Employee: “I think it’s $295… because it’s from Japan.” Me: “Maybe price tags would be helpful?” Employee: “When the clothes come in with price tags from the manufacturers we remove them.” Me: thinking to myself, “Well, that’s not information I care about and not at all helpful for me or other shoppers who may want to know how much things cost. I guess she really doesn’t want to sell anything today, does she?” Had she been interested in truly being helpful or engaging I would have probably bought the shirt, instead I left her alone because clearly that’s what she wanted....
Read moreI wish I could have given them zero stars.
My wife and I recent visited the store because they are one of the few places that sell brands such as Viberg, Filson, Tanner Goods, Double RL, Iron Heart, Norse Projects, and Rogue Territory (Just to name a few).
And upon entrance, I wasn't greeted, let alone even acknowledged for my existence. And when I finally made eye contact with two of the employees there, I was blatantly ignored. Never once a "hey let me know if you are looking for anything" or "Is there anything I can help you with". And overall I felt judged, maybe it was because I was wearing the same clothes that you run errands in, and I wasn't dressed up for the occasion. But overall it was an awful experience. And it's not like the place was super busy or anything.
The odd thing is, I am indeed their ideal customer. As I have a wardrobe that includes: Alden, Red Wing, Viberg, Carmina, Meermin, Gustin, Naked and Famous, Japan Blue, Momotaro, etc. And I would have LOVED to have tried on a denim jacket from Rogue Territory, Iron Heart, or Double RL, as I have been looking for one for YEARS.
I would have loved to have found a local spot like this. But it will be very difficult to get me to return for future...
