After seeing the atmosphere in their FB posts, we were so excited to visit Goldspot Brewing. However, we were disappointed from the moment we walked in.
My 2yr old was so excited to see the beer tender. He was waving to her and saying 'hi' but wasn't acknowledge. I needed the wifi password for my laptop to do some work. When I asked for it I received a blank stare and a finger point to the wall several feet away. When we went to the counter to order drinks we started with 'hey how are you' and received another blank stare with no response. We started packing up to leave and realized the two people sitting a few seats from us worked there. I asked to speak to them and ended up talking to the bar manager. She advised the beer tender made her aware of the poor interaction and advised she was sorry for the experience we had. I found it interesting that the bar manager was fully aware of the situation but made no effort to speak to us while we packed up our things. I was advised the employee was tired from the party they had over the weekend celebrating their 7yr anniversary (today is Thursday). She asked to purchase us a beer or a flight and provide an opportunity to show us the atmosphere they present on their social media. We opted to stay. Understanding that so many places are under staffed and everyone is entitled to a bad day. The bar manager poured us both a flight and the beer was actually really good. However, when we cashed out, the flight she offered to purchase was not taken off the tab (I had no expectation for both to be covered but I did expect one to...
Read moreA nice brewery located close to Regis University. Small but cozy on the inside, with a good variety of beers on tap to try. They have food trucks visit on different nights as well as some snacks available for purchase to help satisfy your hunger.
The Cutter IPA is a nice citrusy IPA that isn't overly bitter or hop heavy. The Intern Baltic Porter goes well on a cold night with it's roast backbone. My mother-in-law enjoyed the Kölsch and she doesn't really drink beer, so it must have been good.
There is Geeks Who Drink trivia on Thursday nights at 7pm, make sure you get there early to get a seat as space is limited.
Parking can also be tricky so make sure to keep your eyes out for street parking...
Read moreI came here for the first time years ago, and I remember the beer menu being interesting enough for me to want to pick the brewer's brain. Kelissa is her name and she was crushing it back then. On a more recent visit I was welcomed by Kelissa and was pleasantly surprised to learn she now owned the business! Things have only improved, the bar has great atmosphere, the staff is exceptionally warm, and the ever-changing, creative beer list is truly pushing the envelope of brewing in the best possible ways! I was surprised I hadn't already written a review, but glad to write one now. Only bummed I don't live closer so this could be my...
